If E20 petrol is regulated at nationwide what's stopping from regulating prices at national level @PetroleumMin
If states can leverage tax on fuel per will what's stopping states from procuring pure petrol @INCIndia@INCKerala provide pure petrol in congress ruled states
Ethanol will hurt the BJP electorally, not because of car owners, the are just 8% of the population, but because of bike owners, who make up 60%.
Every issue with a bike, irrespective of whether it's due to ethanol or not, is being blamed on ethanol. Remember that the overwhelming majority of car and bike mechanics are not your voters and, in fact, they hate you and you know why. They are actively telling anyone with any bike issue that it is due to ethanol. Not only does it serve a political purpose, but it is also easy and convincing.
Car and bike dealers are equally happy to lean into this excuse because it completely deflects blame away from the manufacturers and their own service centers. If a part fails prematurely or a vehicle suffers from a chronic engineering defect, blaming ethanol allows dealers to shift the responsibility onto government policy rather than admitting to poor build quality or honoring warranty claims. It gives them a convenient, politically charged scapegoat that customers readily accept, shielding the automotive brands from reputational damage.
It's up to the BJP to smell the coffee. The issue is no longer on Twitter and no longer raised just by English-speaking metro car owners. It has gone to the ground. There is still time to wake up and make corrections.
P.S. I'm not defending ethanol here. It does damage engines and parts. I've been strongly opposing it and will keep doing so. I'm only saying what's happening on the ground. The BJP should do a course correction on ethanol solely because its implementation was wrong and correcting it is only logical. However, since politicians see every controversy from the standpoint of electoral gains and losses, I'm telling them that it will hurt them electorally too.
"Appropriate action," @nitin_gadkari ji?
The data is already out there, but your ministry refuses to see it.
A massive nationwide survey by LocalCircles covering over 44,000 vehicle owners across 305 districts has completely exposed the reality of your forced E20 rollout:
📌 66% of pre-2023 vehicle owners report a steep mileage drop of over 10%.
📌 55% of respondents are witnessing accelerated wear & tear, component damage, and skyrocketing repair costs; nearly doubling in just a single month!
As highlighted in the report by @_sshubhamjha on India Today 👇, E20 fuel is systematically destroying legacy engines by rotting fuel lines, degrading rubber seals, and causing internal corrosion.
Instead of offloading the burden onto ordinary citizens by asking them to submit individual complaints, your government needs to own up to this policy disaster.
Stop treating millions of Indian vehicles as lab rats for an ongoing experiment. Give citizens the option of lower ethanol blends (E5/E10) before you permanently ruin their hard-earned assets!
What exactly is an E20-compliant vehicle? By definition, it's a vehicle engineered to safely and reliably run on E20 fuel. That also implies a non-E20-compliant vehicle is not designed for E20. Otherwise, the term "compliant" becomes meaningless.
So my question to Mr. @nitin_gadkari is simple: Why was E20 fuel rolled out nationwide when most vehicles on Indian roads were not E20-compliant?
If the answer is, "Nothing happens. Non-compliant vehicles can also run on E20," then what was the rationale behind mandating manufacturers to produce E20-compliant vehicles in the first place? Either E20 compatibility is technically necessary, in which case introducing E20 before the vehicle fleet was ready was questionable. Or it isn't necessary, in which case the compliance requirement itself appears redundant.
You can't simultaneously argue that E20 compliance is important enough to mandate for new vehicles, yet claim it doesn't matter because older, non-compliant vehicles can run on E20 anyway.
By the same logic, why stop at E20? Why not go full aatm-nirbhar and switch directly to E100? If compatibility doesn't matter, then non-E100-compliant vehicles should run on E100 too. Clearly, that's not how engineering works. So where exactly is the technical justification?
🚨Why #Gadkari wants #Ethanol🚨
READ BELOW 👇
In 2018, BJP and Nitin Gadkari promised ₹55 / litre fuel.
Today EVERYONE is suffering from high prices, low mileage, bunk scams, engine rusting.
📌 ONLY Gadkari & family benefit from this #Experiment
📌 India got E20 - 5 years before schedule. Why?? E20 was FORCED down the throat of Indians.
📌 CIAN Agro, run by Nikhil Gadkari, (son of Gadkari) is benefitting heavily!
📌 CIAN revenue went up from ₹171 Cr → ₹2,234 Cr in just 2 years!
📌 CIAN Net Profit jumped from ₹5 Cr → ₹223 Cr !!
📌 CIAN stocks exploded from ₹37 → ₹3633. That's a 100-fold surge!
📌 How did a family-linked company clock – 1,200% revenue growth in just 2 years?!!
📌 More than 75% + of India's 2-wheelers vehicles are NOT Ethanol E20 complaint.
📌 Hundreds of reports everyday on petrol bunk scams. Yet BJP's answer is always – More Ethanol.
📌 Even NITI Aayog raised concern stating - consumers should be compensated for mileage loss. But BJP did not care. ❌
📌 BIS has notified E22, E25, E27 and E30. E85 testings are being done in Maharashtra already.
📌 Congress leaders asked for:
◽LOKPAL probe - No action❌
◽COI scrutiny - No action❌
◽Parliamentary enquiry - No action❌
✅ Father makes policies.
✅ Son mints money.
❌ Indian middle & lower class suffer!
Ethanol scam will be a major issue in bringing down the BJP - NDA regime in 2029. 🔥
You cannot fool Indians forever. Sooner or later, we will hit back.

Dear FM Madam @nsitharaman
It is high time to bring E20 petrol under GST. Make it 18% GST (9% Central + 9% State) to begin with. Remove Excise + VAT + Cess.
This will hugely benefit the tax paying consumers !!!

🚨 SHOCKING TRUTH: We're Paying ₹102 for E20 Petrol in Delhi... But Here's the REAL Breakup! 😱
Delhi's E20 petrol (80% petrol + 20% ethanol) is selling at ₹102.12 per litre right now.
But the math will make your blood boil:
- Base Price (crude + refining + OMC margin): ~₹76–79
- Dealer Commission: ~₹4–4.5
- Central Excise Duty: ~₹11.9
- Delhi VAT (19.4%): ~₹17–19
Taxes alone: Over ₹30 per litre 🥺
And this is post income tax which we pay.
Ethanol blending was supposed to make fuel cheaper, save forex, and help farmers... yet we're still shelling out ₹102 while the base cost is much lower.
And this is in Delhi. In other States, the numbers are far higher.
Where is the promised savings? Infact, I am reading that Ethanol procurement is costly.
E85 (85% ethanol) is available at just ₹82 in Delhi. But no one is using it. Does it even matter?
But what about the regular E20?
Full price, full tax. Zero benefits for users since mileage is far lower. We have seen it over last few years.
I request the Government to Remove Excise Duty, VAT for E20 to compensate for Mileage Drop & Engine Non Compatibility (for 8 out of 10 vehicles running on Indian Roads Today).
We are NOT AGAINST ETHANOL BLENDING. WE JUST NEED THE BENEFITS TO BE PASSED ON TO US IN FORM OF COST.

By 1st July 2026 it will be 1 quarter since mandation of E20 blend petrol. As lot of interviews politicians spoke would benefit Farmers by doing this so.
Can @PetroleumMin declare data on increase in profits/income for Farmers with this over last year?
