@Matt_Stepp817 It’s really not logistically feasible anymore, but the DHS/Ryan game would be electric on Fulton St.
You would have to park in Ponder, but it would be jam packed.
@Smitty1915 Please ride home with your parents.
Less mouths to feed.
Less chance for bad stuff to happen.
Less waiting around for them to get picked up.
The “memories” thing is way overrated in 2026.
@KentuckyKeaton 2 issues these days:
1) HS recruiting/relations are not nearly as important as they were 5 years ago.
2) They probably want you to pay to come to a coaching clinic that they benefit from.
You are right though, it wasn’t always like this.
@HoustonHero713 I was cool with players going to school, doing well, then earning the opportunity to capitalize on what they have earned or what the market dictates.
7 figures for everyone just to show up is not how NIL was originally sold.
@Fullcourtpass@CourtsideBuzzX Every single one of those dudes were 100% convinced when they walked in the door that they were on their way to a contract to play pro ball.
@MateyOGMo@swaggarly My issue is who gets to decide whether a move is legit or not? The aggrieved former coach?
Evidence of moving for athletic purposes is really easy to collect these days. That should be collected first before checking the magic box on the PAPF.
Provided the kid MOVES.
@thecoachfam@Ben_Baby Agree, but Nussmeier moved into the Ryan zone and they listed their house in FM for sale. According to UIL’s own guidelines, that is the proper protocol.
If he wanted to go to Ryan without moving, that’s a no-go.
@IshmaelRJohnson They received more attention because the players were denied when there was zero evidence that they moved for athletic purposes.
I’m all for denying when there is any shred of evidence of wrongdoing, but there has to be at least a shred.
@Ben_Baby Never forget us peons, Ben.
I think a very important distinction that often doesn’t get made is transfer and move are 2 different things.
If you don’t live in the attendance zone, then you should not be eligible unless you have established residency at the school for 1 year
@swaggarly Is there any doubt the same thing happened to Colton Nussmeier?
Bottom line, enough coaches didn’t like that good players were moving to good teams, complained to the UIL, so now we are not even concerned about evidence….just “feelings”
TERRIBLE precedent.
@markvalorian They need promotion/relegation.
My city has a USL level 2 team. How cool would it be if they could play up to level 1 then maybe…..just maybe…..MLS.
Attendance would explode in all those borderline L2/L1 teams.
