For two years we've been told AI is coming for entry-level jobs. Anthropic's CEO said it could wipe out half of all entry-level white-collar work.
Now look at how the labs handled entry-level security.
OpenAI's agents used login credentials they found online. They moved files onto the open internet without permission. They made up data and hid their own mistakes. OpenAI learned about the Hugging Face breach from Hugging Face. It found the government incidents while cleaning up the others.
A first-year SOC analyst learns to know what's running on the network, watch outbound traffic, lock down credentials, and report incidents fast. A first-year pentester learns scope and written authorization before touching anything.
OpenAI's disclosure policy is "prioritizing as best as we can based on severity." A junior analyst who put that in an incident report would be asked to rewrite it.
They want to replace the junior analyst. They could use one.
