The reason why most Christians fail to comprehend temporal punishment for sins is that they've been fed a false, feel-good version of soteriology and harmartiology not in line with historic Christianity

Completely hippie-fied version of Christianity, not the faith of the apostles

Most Christians (and I dare say pastors) don't know much Church history or doctrine and what they do know is relegated to the past 40 years and sanitized versions of past theologians

They would EASILY call figures like Martin Luther an insane, blasphemous, hateful bigot who does not understand the gospel if he were alive today lol

Look I don't believe in denigrating and being purposefully cruel to women because I believe in chivalry.

But Scripture itself calls a promiscuous woman a whore, and it is an accurate description of one. It also even identifies previous prostitutes as prostitutes (Rahab in Hebrews 11). We've softened language to satiate female sensibilities, excusing sin and downplaying its harm.

Words are symbols that shape how we see the world. They matter. Continue to wrap everything in nice packaging and people will not understand the depth and severity of sin.

Today, niceness has become the supreme virtue not only in politics and but in the Church. It neuters young men, effeminizes the Church, and renders it toothless.

If women want to continue participating in politics and theology (traditionally men's domain) they must stop hiding behind fragility and offense at mean words. Argue the actual points of contention, or maybe consider stepping out of the arena.

There is no sin Christ cannot wash away. But that doesn’t change the fact that this kind of post is yet another reason why so many young men are turned off by marriage. This is not an appealing display of the union between a husband and wife. Shouting about your wife’s sexual past seems like a humiliation ritual to young men who are already struggling to find a virtuous woman.

Also probably a good time to remind everyone that after St Mary of Egypt renounced her promiscuous ways, she retreated to the desert for 40 years in repentance, not took to the public square to share unnecessarily intimate details about her past sins.
