So I'm just wondering, aren't there any rules about using modded/custom peripherals during video game tournaments? I just watched @.ThatSrb2DUDE's video about his review and usage of a modded Switch Pro Controller at FullWipe

Was this even allowed by either the tournament organizers or by Nintendo according to their Community Tournament Guidelines?

I checked Hand Held Legends FAQ and Product pages and doesn't seems like their products are licensed by Nintendo either.

i'm torn about the optics about "challenges" that content creators does in multiplayer matches, ie Splatoon

on one hand, it's entertaining to watch, on the other hand it would suck to be grouped with them without consent

Nintendo has updated their copyright policy for YouTubers, streamers, etc.

Notably, content containing "actions that may be considered to impair the gameplay experience in multiplayer modes" is now banned under the new policy.
