I had the honor to interview the 22 year old footballer Dejan Kuzmanović!
You spent several years in AS Monaco's academy. What was it like there, and what do you remember most from that period?
My development at Monaco went very well. I had the privilege of playing for such a big club, and I learned a lot there, both as a footballer and as a person. I consider those years to be the most beautiful period of my young professional career so far.
Monaco is a special club that has produced many great football players. Unfortunately, I never had the opportunity to play for the first team, but I was the captain of the U17 and U19 squads. I believe I played an important role in those teams, and I am proud to have had the chance to wear the club's shirt.
You played three matches for Serbia's youth national team. Can you describe what it is like to play for your country and how much it means to you?
Playing for the Serbian national team is a great honor. Every time you put on your country's jersey, you feel a special responsibility and motivation to give your absolute best.
I played three matches for Serbia's youth national team, and those are experiences I will remember for the rest of my life. Representing your country at the international level is the dream of every young footballer.
I hope I will have the opportunity to represent Serbia again in the future because that remains one of the biggest motivations in my career.
After Monaco, you moved to Austria's DSV Leoben, then to Slovenian second-division club NK Krka. You currently play for Rudar Velenje. How do you look back on that period, and how difficult is it for a young player to establish himself in senior football?
After Monaco, I went through several difficult moments. I wasn't fortunate enough to find a club at the level I had previously been at, and I also had some disagreements with certain agents. At one point, I was supposed to sign for Sturm Graz, but unfortunately, that move never happened.
I then spent six months without a club, which certainly slowed my development. I had to start over at a lower level and joined DSV Leoben, who were playing in the Austrian third division at the time. Those were difficult months, but they also made me mentally stronger.
In the second half of the season, I rediscovered my confidence on the pitch and, most importantly, my enjoyment of football in an environment where I felt comfortable. I only stayed there for six months due to the club's financial problems, but I remember that experience very positively. It was in Austria that I played the most matches of my senior career so far, gained confidence, and collected valuable experience. For that reason, I am very grateful to DSV Leoben for that important stage of my career.
After Monaco, I had several offers from Serbia, but my agent at the time turned them down. Looking back, I think that was a mistake because it could have been an excellent stepping stone for me. After graduating from Monaco's academy, I would have had the chance to play in the top division and continue my development at the senior level, which might have opened the door to stronger clubs abroad.
But that's football. Football is often about choices, making the right decisions, and having a bit of luck. You need to make the right decision at the right time, and today I think some decisions at certain moments were not the best for my career.
Still, I don't look back with regret. Everything I've gone through has made me stronger and given me valuable experience. I continue to work hard and believe in myself because I am convinced that my opportunity will come again.
After six good months in Austria, I received several offers thanks to my performances in the third division. I decided to move to Slovenia and sign for NK Krka, who presented me with a good project.
I spent six months at Krka before signing for Rudar.

@FC_Moyen Théorie super fausse je m’appelle Kuzmanovic et je vaut moins que un joueur français … juste pour dire que les joueurs sont français sont très bien côté car ils sont bien supérieur aux joueurs des pays de l’est
