Ever since I learned how to code 15 years ago I’ve wanted to one day build a complex code editor. Shaping and iterating on both ShopifyQL and the in-browser editor over the last couple of years has been so fun.
Available to everyone: The new analytics lets you query your data directly from a report in real time using ShopifyQL, for more dynamic and customizable reporting. Everyone has a data warehouse now!
This was so fun to make. Being able to ask business questions in natural language and getting visual answers is something I’ve wanted to build ever since I joined the Analytics team 5 years ago. Grateful to have friends like @AlyGemae to build and lead great projects with.
Shopify's analytics are amazing. You can do queries across your entire org by just asking Sidekick and it will get you the unique report and teach you ShopifyQL along the way
🎉 Exciting update for Plus merchants! ShopifyQL Notebooks now support Python code blocks. Imagine the power of ShopifyQL, Python, and Markdown in one place to supercharge your data analysis!

I feel like people do not fully understand how much life changed for our species between 1900 and 2000.
I still struggle to comprehend it.
These events are 66 years apart.
Tip: You can name capture groups for Regular Expressions in JavaScript. Define a named capture in angle brackets <> and they get returned under .groups.
JS meta programming is so fun. A long time ago I did an experiment where you could use a class like you normally would but behind the scenes it ran on a worker. This one lets you use an object like you usually do but behind the scenes it syncs data changes across multiple clients
👀 Shopify's admin looks a lot less purple this week.
That's because we heard feedback from merchants that didn’t feel the whimsical illustrations and purple palette represented their businesses.

TIL that a negative transition or animation delay means the animation will start further into the cycle 🤯 E.g. if you have a 3s animation with a 1.5s delay the animation will start 1.5s into the cycle. https://t.co/8pWTRHoC3M
