H1B’s rarely used to buy homes in the past bcos they had to relocate very frequently, One of the major reasons most US citizens used to turn down these opportunities. Covid changed everything. Working-from-home H1B holders started buying big homes with 3-10% downpayment. Lenders are to blame here.
Most remittances support real estate investments. Much of this capital returns to the United States after appreciating tenfold, reflecting the strength of the Indian real estate market over the past three decades. I suspect no one here wishes to review repatriation figures. That money is reinvested locally in real estate, the stock market, tuition for children, and other areas.
This is how Republicans will lose elections to the pathetic DSA this November and next presidential elections. Looks like extreme MAGA has become a curse for President Trump. There are always extremes in both parties but elected representatives spewing racism publicly will do the job.
You do have a choice. Look up what it actually takes to practice as a physician in the US. A lot of people think someone with a fake diploma can just apply at a hospital and start working. That’s not how it works. A fake diploma won’t get anyone through multiple USMLE tests, 3 years of residency and a US board certification. Comparing a software engineer to a board-certified physician is ignorance at its peak.
Global entry means trusted traveler. That agreement is between CBP and the travelers. Revoking global entry is CBP’s right. Denying actual entry can’t happen bcos of constitutional rights. Know the difference. CBP has every right to ask , denying is your choice but comes with perks.
@TicTocTick It’s a phase. All the jobs being outsourced currently will be replaced by AI in next 18-24 months, maybe sooner based on how exponentially the agents are performing. Unfortunately there will be huge layoffs everywhere.
@yoursnandieni The backlash on H1B program is not towards highly skilled labor. It’s the H1B fraud that employs cheap labor that are not highly skilled!
Everyone had a soft corner for hardworking illegals before the political parties started using them as pawns. Social benefits like free food, health insurance, free accommodation, free daycare, debit cards and the most important, letting them vote. The illegals didn’t ask for it but Democrats looked at them as future potential voters. See end of the it’s all politics.
@huy9988@SawyerMerritt Range Rovers are known to be unreliable. Hopefully the electric version solves their problem. But they're doomed if the software is written by the same old team.
The broader industry trends paint a clear picture: JP Morgan, Citi, and Amazon and many more firms have locked in 3–5 day onsite mandates across all levels (CTO, directors, leads included). JPMC hit 5 days over a year ago. Strict office policies are far more widespread than isolated edge cases suggest.
