CBSE has conducted the evaluation process for Class 12 Board Examinations 2026 through the improved On-Screen Marking (OSM) system.
First piloted in 2014, the system has now been strengthened with enhanced scanning processes, rigorous quality checks, secure infrastructure and extensive teacher training to ensure smooth implementation. Widely used by universities and assessment institutions in India and abroad, OSM promotes greater accuracy, transparency and efficiency in the evaluation process while serving the best interests of students.

Today, Shri @sanjayjavin, Secretary, Department of School Education & Literacy (DoSEL), administered the Seva Sankalp Resolution to the officials of the Ministry of Education and emphasized that governance must be guided by the spirit of “Nagrik Devo Bhava” - placing citizens at the centre of every policy and decision. He underscored that transparency, accountability and sensitivity to public aspirations must define the Ministry’s work culture.
Referring to the historic first Union Cabinet meeting chaired by Hon’ble Prime Minister Narendra Modi at ‘Seva Teerth’, he stated that this premise is not merely a modern workplace, but a symbol of a new work culture in governance. Every file that moves from here, and every karmayogi working here, must remain inspired by the sentiment that their work is connected to simplifying the life of the last person in the country.
He further noted that with the mantra of “Minimum Government, Maximum Governance,” transformative reforms such as GST, DBT and Digital India have made governance more transparent, efficient and citizen-centric. These sustained efforts have secured India a strong position among the world’s leading economies.
Reaffirming the resolve to promote prudent use of resources and accelerate the continuous journey of reforms, Shri Sanjay Kumar reiterated the Ministry’s unwavering commitment towards building a Viksit Bharat by 2047.
