If I had a magic wand, I would want to simplify the tax structure to stop carving out and favoring certain activities (adds complexity) and lower rates

@PatGarofalo So is no one going to mention the differences with the standard deduction? That puts the respective tax rates for each really close to each other for both incomes cited. That's not taking into account the general income differences and other tax implications.

I think the issue is on their W4 and if they did not check the box for 2c (only two jobs and the lower paying job is > 50%, otherwise use 2b). Just a guess.

@themoviedadsc Completely 100% agree and I've been saying this. A lot of schools had this, including my own. But I remember everyone goofing off and saying "I don't need this" if they even bothered saying anything at all. Most teens just don't have the maturity to take long life lessons serious

Deriving a statement about ceilings from a single poll with still enough undecideds is not supported by the data. @chriswithans @IAPolls2022 So Emerson has Klobuchar at 47% in June of 2024. Wanna take a guess at what the ceiling ACTUALLY was? Not saying there are no headwinds for her but data analysis needs to be agnostic and not copium. And that was in a year that Dems did not do well.
