If you often feel cringe at your past-self, means you are at a high velocity growth path. Whenever there's big gap since I last felt cringe with myself, I know it's time for reflection if I am doing it right or not.
Contrarian view: Slack is such an extremely good product, that it is counter-productive.
If it sucked a little, I would do more deep work, than replying and playing with it all the time.

Have you ever tried to visualise what your sub-conscience looks like?
Mine looks like piano keys. There’s no melody added to it, but just infinitely long and never ending series of piano keys. Alternate black n white keys it is.
Underdog achiever story sells so much in India. Be it KBC viewership or hero worship of exam toppers.

You’re riding at 110kmph in India thinking you’re the main character and out of no where someone passes you like a flash at what feels like 250+ and immediately your ego is dissolved.
There are things whose answers sometimes you don’t find in reason but in instincts and in recklessness and in love and in courage and in an auto ride and in a dive and in a glass of wine 🍷
There are things that I want to happen and then there are things I want to happen from me. For eg - I want my city to be clean, walkable, lots of trees - but I might not actively work for it.
But I want to build something for the older population myself.
eg- Henrik Karlsson writes beautifully, and I’m reading his essay “On Agency”, but few things feel subtly wrong in the essay. Like one place, he mentions “lack of imagination”, but what it really should be is “presumption”. These things matter a lot for serious readers.
