I was going to write a status, "what goes around comes around" hoping he would see it but i held back. Let them feel the silence. It says enough. Let them sit with their own choices. Don’t explain. Let them experience the absence. Let them feel what it’s like without you.

@crxingincode I know :( it’s so hard to let go when a part of you still believes things could be different. You don’t have to force yourself to stop loving him overnight. Just try not to let the hope of him changing keep you stuck in the same pain

@naadan_yal Exactly. I think a lot of his deen right now is coming from insecurity rather than genuine spirituality. He’s jealous of Zaryab for getting into Harvard & Abu Bakr for being a good Muslim, so it feels like he’s trying to convince himself that he’s somehow better than both of them

@naadan_yal well if you watch the show, he would go to religious gatherings but that isn't the point here. Finding Allah doesn't give someone permission to become arrogant toward people who are still struggling. I feel like he has developed this sense of superiority complex

@oliive_green exactly. people really underestimate how difficult it can be to detach from someone you’re deeply attached to. you can know something is bad for you and still struggle to let go. healing takes time, support, and sometimes professional help
