A Northern elder and former Army General, Major General Haruna Garba Gololo, has reportedly been arrested at Grand Square Supermarket in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.

General Haruna Garba, popularly known as Garus Gololo, retired as a Major General in the Nigerian Army before venturing into politics.
He recently made politically motivated remarks against the President of the Senate, Senator Goodwill Akpabio, which reportedly led to his arrest.

Should Northern elders wake up from their deep slumber and reflect on a situation where a politician can allegedly influence the arrest of a retired Military General? This development is raising serious concerns.

It is not only Northerners who make controversial remarks about politicians; Southerners do the same. Many believe such situations should not result in arrests or public humiliation.

We pray to God to grant General Garus Gololo a positive resolution to this situation.
