There are financial incentives for large corporations to push this sentiment. You should look into this, it very clearly shows you who’s financially benefitting from there not being A/C in EU, and who’s most likely paying for these media campaigns.

Example: Heatpumps really do not work well enough to cool a home. But installing them is heavily subsidized and improves your ‘energy label’ It honestly doesn’t do anything but the homeowners benefit from a better label and the installers get subsidized for buying and placing it. This isn’t the case for A/C which does a way better job, but consumes 3-4x as much power.
