We should recover our money back and continue to name, shame and stigmatise Chairman Wontumi for the rest of his life. That is punishment enough for him. - Martin Kpebu, Private legal practitioner

If this is how a politician who caused millions to be lost is treated; making him pay the money back and show remorse, then anyone who steals or takes something less than 100,000 should never step in jail for years. He should work to recover the money by paying monthly with interest and he will be named and shamed for the rest of his life.
That would be enough deterrent right?
I witnessed someone go to jail for five years because he stole 12,000 cedis. Terrible. Another news story was someone jailed for multiple years because he stole church equipment.
It’s better to make these people work and pay 2k a month to the state (24k a year let’s say 6 years if what they stole is like 100,000… get it?)
It’s way better because the person being jailed for 5 years is just an expense to us.
I will never become a trillionaire.
I will never become a billionaire.
I will likely never become a millionaire.
But I have Jesus, and that makes me wealthy beyond measure.
They’re saying a well known uni student was killed with her breast cut off and her body dumped somewhere. When I’m checking sites or blogs for information, they’re all inconsistent. It’s like people fool with terrible news these days, they become unbelievable.
What’s the truth and can we get a proper authority coming out with a statement? This is serious.

Poor man steals yam: 5 years in prison
Rich politician steals millions of cedis: "he should just pay back, stigmatization is enough punishment"
