@Protons4B @baldwinbiogas @DrSimEvans Farmers have been storing grass (and maize) for years & years in th form of silage. This is what AD plant do as well so they can produce biomethane 24/7 all year. Silage is a kind of 'long-term biomass battery'.
@ACJSissons In the world of energy, the Feed in Tariff and Renewable Heat Incentive are both index linked. Although these are a 'per kWh' subsidy rather than an up front payment towards the captial cost.

@JRDSills Plenty of options to sell AD 'bit by it' but unfortunately not wind or PV. Even if you end up fixing at a relative low remind yourself that its way more than you ever expected when you built it.

Check out section 2.5. My reading of it is that red diesel used in a generator to store potatoes (an agricultural activity) is still OK. But best if you read and make your own mind up as I haven't checked this with HMRC.
