#JustBeatIt@polykill No.415 Bakushô Yoshimoto no Shinkigeki (PCE CD). A platformer packed with gags and fun minigames based on a Japanese comedy group. Short, easy, and funny, this is yet another obscure Japanese gem worth checking out!
#JustBeatIt@polykill No.414 Futari Wa Pretty Cure Max Heart: Maji? Maji!? Fight de IN Janai (GBA). What an unexpected delight! This Japanese only platformer is pretty easy, but you can't deny the game's charm, great graphics good controls. It's surprisingly fun. Recommended!
#JustBeatIt@polykill No.411 Macross 7 - Ginga no Heart o Furuwasero!! (GBC) Patch by Gitendo.A fun hybrid between a shmup and a rhythm game (@Blinkoom might get a kick out of it 😉) The boss battle rhythm parts are hard (for me),but the shmup parts are easy. Worth checking out!
#JustBeatIt@polykill No.413 Nekketsu Kouha Kunio-Kun - Bangai Rantou Hen (GB). Patch by Ice. An unlocalized brawler in the River City Ransom series. Hit detection is iffy, and the bosses are tough, but it looks nice and plays well enough. Credits are garbled due to patch issues.
#JustBeatIt@polykill No.412 Konjiki no Gashbell!! Unare! Yuujou no Zakeru 2 (GBA). Patch by SuperrSonic. Basically the same as Electric Arena 1, only much more to the point. I like this one more. The English patch is very impressive, the team even provided English dubs!
@MrMo1984@polykill Haha, it's not even the weirdest thing compared to the actual anime and game The main protagonist attacks with his mustache and fights a guy with a pink poop for a head for example...so yeah 😅
#JustBeatIt@polykill No.407 Boboboubo Boubobo - Bakutou Haijke Taisen (GBA). The game was never localized, so I have no idea what it's all about. Shame, because the game looks and plays great. It feels a bit like Super Smash Brothers, with interesting stages and characters.
#JustBeatIt@polykill No.409 Konjiki no Gashbell!! Yuujou no Zakeru - Dream Tag Tournament (GBA). This unlocalized Zatch Bell! fighter is pretty good with fluid animation and solid gameplay. I liked it more than the previous one I played.
#JustBeatIt@polykill No.410 Yū Yū Hakusho 2: Kakutō no Sho (SFC). This fighting game is pretty good! I like how you can choose which fighter to use before each fight. It adds a layer of strategy. Gameplay and graphics are great, but the final boss is surprisingly tough.
#JustBeatIt@polykill No.408 ZatchBell! - Electric Arena (GBA). Based on the anime with the same name, this fighter looks great and moves fast. However there is a lot of dialogue and fluff around it (pleasant for the fans I'm sure) which limits the actual gameplay.
#JustBeatIt@polykill No.406 Sint Nicolaas (MS-DOS). Played this to celebrate Sinterklaas arriving in my home country of the Netherlands! Deliver gifts & Pepernoten through chimneys before dawn. Fun little game by Mike Wiering—download it free at https://t.co/ZXDn5ZauKc!
#JustBeatIt@polykill No.405 Bubble Ghost (GB). A puzzle game where you're a ghost that needs to blow a bubble to the exit, avoiding all kinds of traps. The premise is fun, but man are some of the levels tough! Took me dozens of tries, so I'm glad to have finally beaten it.
#JustBeatIt@polykill No.404 Battle Crusher (GB). Sprites and music are very nice, but the game is very slow with limited moves and low difficulty. Yet, this is one of those games that is objectively jank, but I can't help but enjoying. I don't know why, it' just fun 😁.
#JustBeatIt@polykill No.403 Banishing Racer (GB). Patch by Stardust Crusaders. Actually not a racer, but a platformer. The controls are interesting: A jumps and B gives a short speed burst. Mastering this is key, because the game is pretty tough! All in all short, but fun.
#JustBeatIt@polykill No.402 Fighter's History (SNES). The famous Street Fighter ripoff that ended in a court case. The game itself is pretty much what you'd expect. It's not bad, but it's very hard, which curbs my enthousiasm a lot.
#JustBeatIt@polykill No.401 World Heroes 2 (SNES). Like Fatal Fury 2, a much better game. Movement is much faster, gameplay is excellent, characters are interesting and the premise is fun. Check it out!
#JustBeatIt@polykill No.400 (😀 😀 😀 😀) Super Mario 3D World (NSW). Played the entire game with my 8yo son. We both had a blast and it seemed a fitting 400th beat for this year! The 170 star limit for the final bowser battle was too excessive, but otherwise a very fun game!
#JustBeatIt@polykill No.399 World Heroes (SNES). As was the case with Fatal Fury, this game is pretty slow on the SNES. While the premise is interesting, the gamplay is a pretty standard affair. It's not bad, but nothing special either.
