How does one reconcile the Good Samaritan’s mercy with dispatching Kentucky State Police on Easter Sunday… the very day we venerate the Resurrection to harvest license plates from the faithful in Eastern Kentucky? That is not the faith of the Apostles or the Desert Fathers. That is the spirit of the Pharisees, who tithed mint and cumin while neglecting justice, mercy, and faithfulness.

True faith does not weaponize the state against the people it claims to serve. Pre-order the book if you like, but until the actions match the rhetoric, it rings as hollow as the whitewashed tombs our Lord condemned.

May the Lord grant us all the grace of authentic repentance, not performative piety.
