Even the New York Times, thousands of miles away from Africa, is reporting that the Africa Cup of Nations tournament was allegedly expected to be “rigged” in favour of Morocco before a ball was even kicked.
Morocco, a team that failed to prevail on the pitch, ultimately prevailed in Mr Patrice Motsepe’s appeals committee and has now been declared the winner two months after the final was played.
@CAF_Online has truly embarrassed Africa, reducing the continent to a laughing stock in the eyes of the world and football community. The world is laughing at Africa.
Even the former CAF Disciplinary Committee chairman, respected arbitrator at the Court of Arbitration for Sport, and current chairman of the PSL Disciplinary Committee, Raymond Hack, has dismissed the decision as a joke in an interview with Robert Marawa, further exposing the extent to which this saga has undermined the credibility of African football governance. Shameless!!
Remember those white South African refugees that we made a big deal about because they were the only ones we were allowing in because they were white? Yeah, they just went back home because they said it was better than living here under Trump. 🤣
Two US citizens murdered by federal agents. Within hours, Trump, Vance, Noem & Miller called them "terrorists" and "assassins" before any investigation. DOJ refused to investigate. State investigators blocked from crime scenes. Victims' families investigated instead.
This is felony obstruction of justice (18 USC §1505: up to 5 years) and witness tampering (18 USC §1512: up to 20 years). Conspiracy to obstruct adds another 5 years. We're looking at potential 25+ year sentences for the President, VP, and cabinet officials.
Resignation is not enough.
Observing efforts to defend and rationalize Donald Trump’s words and actions invites an almost laughable comparison with the film Mediocrity, which depicts a future in which intellectual standards have eroded so severely that an otherwise ordinary individual from the past becomes President of the United States after a chance journey through time.
The parallel is difficult to ignore. It becomes increasingly surreal to listen to supporters—often exhibiting strained reasoning and a troubling erosion of moral judgment—attempt to intellectualize the brutalization and killing of innocent human beings, including American citizens, in the name of law enforcement. This stands in stark contrast to the long-held global perception of the United States as a society grounded in education, intelligence, and intellectual leadership.
Mediocrity.
Is mediocrity the absence of talent—or the deliberate suppression of it?
Listening to MAGA supporters as they excuse rhetoric and conduct that is irrational, racist, vulgar, and at times bordering on criminal—conduct that has produced real and measurable human suffering—brings this question into sharper relief.
As the old adage reminds us: “It is better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak and remove all doubt.”

With recent events, do you believe international football teams and organisations should boycott the 2026 Fifa World Cup taking place in the US?
I think it’s clear at this point that nobody should travel to the US. It isn’t safe, and there are zero reasons to support a violent, fascist government and the demented dictator in charge. All European teams should boycott the World Cup.
The United States we all knew is gone.
They will look you dead in the face and say J6 rioters with guns, poles, bats, etc were patriots, but an ER Nurse with a camera and a registered firearm was a domestic terrorist.
