Is your #wheat lodged and when you look at the base of the plant, it's kinked with a flax-like insect pupa inside? That's Hessian fly. Thanks @SeCanLauren for the samples.

@MikePalmier Agreed. This caught me off guard. Likely back to an even split after more checking. Oddly enough it’s coming a little after the farms have transitioned to straight cutting canola.
@amandawuchs % verticillium of the affected pods? Or is it showing up on non verticillium stems too. Lots of verticillium without the stem discolouration this year.
@TerryHyra Still learning about it unfortunately. Europe has been dealing with it for 30 years so there must be lessons and tactics to take away from them.
