@Zelenskyy BREAKING
"Donald Trump has no power to remove me from office. I believe many people in the United States still stand with Ukraine, and I will fight until the end, until the Ukrainian people, whom I love so deeply, finally see victory."
We cannot go on like this in Britain.

▸ UPDATE:
Zelensky just set the trap, and Trump walked right into it.
If Putin agrees to a 60-day ceasefire, Ukraine will hold elections.
This move defines everything. Kyiv puts the ball in Moscow's court.
The demand for elections stops being a weapon against Zelensky and becomes a test Putin will never pass.
Trump spent the day claiming Zelensky refuses to end the war, refuses compromises, and that Ukrainian strikes on refineries hurt American farmers.
Zelensky answered without arguing. He simply attached elections to the one thing Russia has never accepted: a real ceasefire.
Now watch Moscow reject it. Watch Trump say nothing.

As I said earlier today, if Russia stops bombing Ukraine, Ukraine will stop bombing Russia.
Why isn’t the pressure on Putin to stop attacking Ukraine?
I don’t think @ZelenskyyUa is being unreasonable.
I fully support President Trump and I empathize with Amercians paying more for diesel, but you have to admit, Putin refusing to come to the table to sign a deal and his refusal to stop targeting civilians with ballistic missiles is abhorrent. Zelenskyy is trying to save his people from being slaughtered by a madman. Putin has been refusing to end this war that President Trump wants to end. Zelenskyy said he would stop bombing Russia but Putin won’t agree to stop bombing Ukraine.
How does that work?
At the end of the day, Vladimir Putin has killed more white, Christian European men and women than Al Baghdadi ever did.
That’s a fact. Putin is actually worse than ISIS.
FT exclusive: before Trump suddenly announced an energy ceasefire between Russia & Ukraine today (catching Zelenskyy by surprise, & possibly also Putin…), US officials had spent the weekend calling European capitals & threatening to stop Europeans from purchasing U.S. weapons

‼️ZELENSKYY: The Armed Forces of Ukraine have received the relevant orders. We are defending Ukraine and awaiting details of U.S.-russian talks. We expect Putin to honor the agreement announced by President Trump. Unfortunately, russian Shahed drones have been in our skies all day. Ukraine wants peace. The question is whether russia does.
FULL STATEMENT:
"Today, the President of the United States announced that an energy ceasefire had been reached. This is good news for everyone, and it is important that it becomes a reality.
Ukraine supports all genuine and reliable formats for a ceasefire and an end to the war. Ukraine is ready to refrain from striking russian energy infrastructure, and we expect the same readiness from russia, as well as an agreement secured by the President of the United States on this matter. We welcome such an agreement.
Unfortunately, russian Shahed drones have been in our skies throughout the day. Shahed drones are still in the air right now. There have also been strikes with aerial bombs, unfortunately, as well as strikes on our energy infrastructure. Just moments ago, there was a strike on CHPP-5 in the city of Kharkiv, targeting Kharkiv’s energy infrastructure.
In total, over the course of this week alone, the russians have carried out more than 200 strikes against our electricity generation and transmission facilities in Ukraine. Another 17 strikes this week targeted gas and oil facilities here in Ukraine.
In just this one week, the russians have killed more than 150 of our people, and more than 700 people have been injured.
Ukraine has proposed many de-escalation measures. Putin's response to all of them was always the same: his "nyet."
We very much hope that he will finally say something different to America, Ukraine, and the entire world. Something other than killing and deception. Something that will lead to a real and dignified peace.
Ukraine wants peace. The question is whether russia wants it.
The Armed Forces of Ukraine have received all the corespondent orders. We are defending Ukraine. We are fighting to secure support for Ukraine. We support all steps by our partners that can help us.
We are awaiting clear details of the dialogue between America and russia, and we expect Putin to fulfill what President Trump said he had agreed to."

😐Kyiv, situation.
A woman tried to steal a package of sushi rolls from a store, and when she was caught, she attacked a security guard and started throwing the sushi rolls.

@JakeWSimons Great to see an article like this from a Jewish source. I hope this can be published in an Israeli outlet. When it comes to critiques of Trump , or pieces on Ukraine, Israel is bereft. Israelis are too insular, and need a broader perspective.
@ZvikaKlein@JakeWSimons
Donald Trump has once again demonstrated his bizarre alignment with Vladimir Putin, this time by suggesting that Volodymyr Zelensky, the democratically elected president of Ukraine, might be replaced.
Coming from the leader of the free world, at a time when Russia is waging a war of conquest against its neighbour, this is astonishing. Yet somehow, with Trump, the astonishing has become routine. His sympathy for the Kremlin, his contempt for its victims and his apparent inability to distinguish between the interests of America and those of its enemies speak for themselves. Not so his corruption.
When I speak to British friends on the Right, I am frequently struck by how little they know about the staggering extent of Trump’s crookedness. Some assume the allegations are simply the inventions of a hysterical Left-wing establishment, which has spent a decade throwing everything at him.
Others shrug and point out that all politicians are corrupt, and that Trump is merely more, well, honest about it. Both arguments hold a grain of truth. The American liberal establishment has indeed behaved disgracefully towards Trump at times, and Washington has never been a monastery of public virtue. But neither observation begins to explain what has happened to the American presidency.
Few people seem to know, to cite just one example, that the president and his family amassed as much as $5 billion in a single day after their crypto venture opened trading. This, reader, was while he was serving as president, which was instrumental in creating the value of the currency.
I should explain that I was not always hostile to Trump. When he first emerged, I regarded his brashness, his contempt for polite convention and his willingness to overturn the tables of the political establishment as a potentially necessary corrective to the suffocating orthodoxies of centrist fundamentalism. I even wrote positively about him once or twice. But as time passed, and particularly during his second term, the evidence of his degeneracy became impossible to ignore, let alone defend.
What follows, therefore, is not a collection of Left-wing talking points, nor an argument about his vulgarity, his manners or his social media habits. It is a catalogue of documented financial conflicts, abuses of power, self-enrichment schemes, judicial findings and serious allegations. Taken together, they tell a story of corruption on a scale that ought to horrify anybody who still believes in the integrity of Western democracy. They also suggest that the man is entirely unfit to be president.
Does any of this influence his aforementioned bizarre alignment with Vladimir Putin? As Francis Urquhart famously put it in House of Cards: “You might very well think that; I couldn’t possibly comment”. Though you might be interested in the fifth section below, “the corruption of American foreign policy”.
OK, I hope you’re sitting down. It’s rather a long list, presented in eight sections. (I’ve made it as exhaustive as possible, but I’m sure there’s lots more. Do let me know if there’s anything to add, so that this can become as comprehensive as possible.)...
