@GregAbbott_TX Parents already can choose where their kids go to school. Vouchers hurt our most vulnerable kids while providing discounts to families who can already afford private schools. As a person of faith, I do not support this effort to defund public education.
As the mother of a daughter who is disabled, I’d just like to remind you that not all of our children can “run for their lives.”
As per usual, the most vulnerable are the most vulnerable.

If the militia is
killing children as they learn,
is it well-regulated?
Will we ever decide that
the only thing that
Shall Not Be Infringed
is the lives of our children?
Something that has been made clear:
We need to stop saying “This is not who we are” in “America.”
Indeed, this is not who and what the United States should be, but denial won’t make the injustices and inhumane ideologies less so.
We can’t change without truth.
Sometimes I think about how many “in the world, not of it” sermons I sat through, how many altar calls and pleas to give up our “sinful” CDs/books/movies, and I think about how most of those same leaders have run arms wide open to this nationalist shitshow like it is gospel. Oof.
I have whiplash from how quickly the “We are a nation of laws!” contingent has decided laws are no longer constitutional as soon as they are affected by them even a little bit.
Called the HH COVID hotline. Was told to call PCP or go to ER. Problem is, most PCPs are not testing and are directing people to the hotline. The ER is also directing to the hotline. ERs will be inundated. SHUT DOWN THE CITY. @LinaHidalgoTX@SylvesterTurner@harrishealth@ushahmd
