I had the opportunity to speak with a Health Promoter from the IWK today! We talked about actions that could be done at the municipal level to support children's health, and I'm really looking forward to working closely with the IWK in the future.

I'd definitely like to see a sidewalk on Tremont, I have good firsthand experience of walking without one there while I was canvassing, and it wasn't a comforting experience when cars drove by

Online and telephone voting are open from Oct. 6, to Oct. 14.

Advanced polling will also take place on Oct 10 and Oct 13.

In theory that could reduce risk for individuals and profitably increase the adoption rate of household solar panels.

This isn't a fully developed concept, but I like the idea of a government or company buying and installing solar panels on willing people's houses, on the condition that the energy revenue was split between the home owner and the government/company.

Even if a tenant is being "problematic", it is unacceptable to abuse your power as a landlord to force your way.

Our lack of rental vacancies also puts all tenants in a weaker position in any disputes.

If I'm elected to council, I won't run for re-election more than once.

Instead, I'll focus on getting things done on a reasonable timeline.

I will not be able to fix every issue. But I can make sure they are heard. I will also report results back to the residents who told me about an issue whenever possible.

Good governance comes from initiative and accountability, and this is how I’m getting a start on both.

I've compiled a list of all the issues and priorities brought to me from people in District 10. So far, I have several hundred and the list grows every day.

If elected, I will go over all of them and make sure the Municipality takes concerns from District 10 seriously.

The average vacancy rate in Halifax at the start of the year was approximately 1%, whereas a healthy rate is roughly 3-5%. This includes all housing, and affordable housing vacancy rates are even lower. For too many, affordable housing is secondary to finding any housing at all.

@safe_hrm I've also been hearing many upsetting stories from people in District 10, which is primarily suburbs, about people getting hurt by cars in residential streets with fast cars and few sidewalks.

As a councillor, I'll be doing everything I can to prioritize safer streets.
