It's a good thing I have no moral or legal responsibility to respect the monarchy. I keep extemporizing new lyrics to @SteveMartinToGo's "King Tut":
(King Chuck) Now when he was a young man, he never thought he'd see
(King Chuck) People stand in line to mock the monarchy!
I will warrant that the 1918 pandemic is a better analog for the COVID pandemic, but let's not forget a deadly pandemic because it unfolded slowly and mostly affected an unpopular minority.
.@HollyYanCNN says "More than 675,000 people in the United States have died from Covid-19, according to Johns Hopkins University. That surpasses the estimated US death toll from the deadliest pandemic of the 20th century."
As you enjoy your Memorial Day, please remember all those who lost their lives for our freedom.
Do not let their deaths be in vain. Remain vigilant against all threats to freedom, justice, and equality.
Happy Memorial Day!
@willowcabins @Aimee_Ogden @hexagonmagazine Thank you very much! It was a fun story to write, and I honestly didn't know if anyone would like it but me.
