Republican officials will say stuff like this and then act totally mystified by Mamdani’s popularity with young people.

One side is telling disaffected young people that they ought to have free healthcare, education, and a living wage, while the other—electorally (and in Levitt’s case, literally) married to loaded, state-subsidized geriatrics—scoffs at them for not having a “real job,” without ever asking why there are so few “real jobs” left that would support a mid-sized family on a single income.
