Day 2 of attempting to break art block by getting out of my comfort zone: landscapes...
I've been drawing this mushroom land on and off since like 2019 and I still have no idea what it is
@HopefulLeaves You can!! I never said sexuality being expressed in art is bad, I do it myself, I'm saying there are people who are disgusted by sexuality being expressed openly and assume all nudity is sexual and should be censored
Nowadays you can't depict nudity without people assuming it is sexual & clutching pearls at the idea of humans having sex. Anytime I draw nudity, I'm met with comments asking for the character to be covered or social media platforms removing art because it's "sexual content"
@Da_Super_Pony I don't think it should be hated either! I'm not saying sexual art is bad, I make it myself, I'm saying that people who assume artistic nudity is sexual, & are uncomfortable with sexuality being expressed want to censor ALL nudity in art
@knix1000 didn't say its not sexual, I said that people now think ALL nudity is sexual & bc we're in an era that demonizes sexuality, people want it censored- best example I have is my art based on the Minoans (where women had their breasts exposed) & having people say they should cover up
@Steelbonnie7 Actually, I've had more of my drawings of naked men taken down on apps like tiktok- not even nudity, just drawing them SHIRTLESS has had my posts taken down for being "sexual content" 😭
@EvansVeris Even in subjects where the nudity was expected, I've had the art removed or commented negatively on for said nudity- such as my drawings of ancient Greek myths, the subject matter of so much neoclassical art that includes nudity, and having people go "cover them up"
@sow667 I'm aware, I majored in art history & sat through four years of "so here's why this painting of a woman is actually really upsetting" Haha..
Was mostly expressing my annoyance as an artist who draws nudity & has that work scrutinized or removed from social media very often
First trailer for ‘I AM FRANKELDA’, the first-ever stop-motion film made in Mexico.
The film follows a writer who is taken to another realm to help write nightmares to keep monsters alive.
Releasing June 12 on Netflix.
‘The Good Advice Cupcake’ creator Loryn Brantz says she is “horrified and disgusted” after BuzzFeed allegedly gave her character to an AI platform without her involvement.
She also called for a boycott of BuzzFeed and AI-produced animation.
I’d like to add to this-
The pool of trans VAs is tiny and very white and US dominated to the point I feel we should aim to create way more accessibility and space for trans folk/trans POC in acting worldwide as well as to uplift our trans/NB peers. ✨
