I completely understand this not being given in real time, It's touch and go. But when a player steps in front of the ball to shield it, after getting a space in front of the player who is trying desperately to recover and get back goal side, If that player then goes into the back of the attacker, I do not understand how VAR can get involved and overturn that decision?
Feels like now more than ever, the rules seem to be so vague and randomly decided and then in the area where we are now left with long stoppages because of video reviews. You would, at the very least, hope that every fixture was refereed the same, with the same outcomes and conclusions but if anything, it's just got even worse
