Hey all, I'm at Bluesky now. I'll be spending most of my time over there and using Twitter for updates, so give me a follow if you want to keep up with me. https://t.co/Xi0WMiX3tb
Today on the blog: my review of Iain Reid's I'm Thinking of Ending Things. An interesting philosophical dissection of relationships and solitude with mediocre prose. https://t.co/EggX2PiLqD...

Today on the blog: my review of Huxley's Brave New World. While it's got some thought provoking worldbuilding, it's seriously lacking on story. https://t.co/EggX2PiLqD...

On the blog: my review of Jennette McCurdy's I'm Glad My Mom Died. A truly exceptional memoir that you don't want to miss. https://t.co/kGAQFior09...

On the blog: my review of Bram Stoker's Dracula. It's only a few weeks until Dracula Daily starts again, so it's a perfect time to dive back into this tasty classic. https://t.co/kGAQFinTaB...

If you love or support trans people, please take a moment to sign this petition urging the Alberta UCP to retract their harmful anti-trans policies. The petition will also generate a letter that will be automatically sent to gov officials. Super handy! https://t.co/GdErEvoxnL
On the blog: my review of Cinder by Marissa Meyer. A solid steampunk Cinderella retelling that errs on the side of predictable and anti-feminist. https://t.co/9i1GoKcNNB

Today on the blog: my review of Seanan McGuire's Every Heart a Doorway. A beautifully queer story that centers around a tense murder mystery. https://t.co/UVRZkmFtCG

On the blog: my review of Noopiming: The Cure for White Ladies by Leanne Betasamosake Simpson. An intense intermeshing of prose, poetry, and Indigenous storytelling that takes a hard look at colonialism and consumerism.

It's so nice to see Russel T Davies at the helm of Doctor Who again. As a writer he's got his issues, but out of all the modern era writers, he does the best job at balancing the show.
On the blog: My review of The Narrows by Ann Petry. What a brilliant book. Too bad the prose is such a drag. https://t.co/DvWyPhIMI8

Is it just me, or does Netflix have a lot of transphobic content? Apparently if you're an old, unfunny comedian, Netflix will give you a platform to spout slurs.
On the blog: my review of Romance in Marseille by Claude McKay. A sharp-witted queer tale with excellent disability rep and an unsatisfying finish. https://t.co/1XpgWF0JfR

Writing is a process of constant experimentation. Test and try out new ideas. Give them to writer friends for feedback. Above all, never hesitate from trying new ideas, regardless of how strange and bizarre they initially appear.
For the first time in years, I'm considering DNFing a book with Pokwatka's Self Portrait with Nothing, only because the characters act so nonsensical at times that it pulls me out of the story.
