1/2: Left moving supercell north of Adelaide River in the #NT to end my 2.5wk trip. Plenty of clean branchy bolts from this. Heaviest rain fell just south of my location. #storms#wetseason
Clear air bolt from Middle Point #NT late last night. A race to get north of this core only to catch it in its final stages but produced the goods. Prior was down at Adelaide river where a band of #storms weakened. Outflow winds clocked 102km/h at the peak.
Another cluster of #thunderstorms formed near Jabiru this evening and produced a decent round of lightning. View was from Middle Point. Storms should become frequent as well as gusty across parts of the #TopEnd
A classic #NT Top End #thunderstorm set off by the sea breeze boundary. This guy topped out at approx 58kFT and threw some ripper clear air bolts. Taken at Gunn Point beach looking East.
@dartanner Haha yeah we do get some crackers here but they are so few and far between. Last photogenic storm was November 22nd 2020. On average we get 1-3 storms a year.
Storm season is underway in South Australia. This lightning image was captured this morning in Uleybury. See the full gallery at: https://t.co/25nwah8yRP
