May problema talaga tayo as a nation kasi who votes for a 3-time plunderer into office at halos kalahati ng mga senador eh sangkot sa corruption at krimen. 🥲
(Kakalimutan pa ba natin na 'yung presidente eh anak ng diktador at 'yung bise eh anak ng mamamatay-tao).
Itigil natin tong ganitong purist mindset. Acknowledging the correct positions made by trapo minority senators is not tantamount to glazing them. Sa panahon ngayon, you need more allies than enemies. Recognizing that stops this country from sinking further to the pits.
I never voted for Tito Sotto before, but credit where it’s due. I honestly respect what he did last night. Since his comeback, he has been standing for what is right more often, and what happened last night proved it again.
When the Minority senators walked out and the Senate lost quorum, Tito Sotto immediately pointed it out and moved to adjourn the session. Marcoleta tried to argue and question the rules, but Tito Sen shut it down fast with that line: “Akala ko ba magaling sa rules?”
And the thing is, Sotto was absolutely correct based on Senate procedure. The motion to adjourn takes precedence once there’s no quorum. Cayetano couldn’t do anything. Even Loren Legarda, as presiding officer, had no choice but to concede and adjourn the session.
Tito Sotto stood his ground.
Turns out, the “comedian” understood the Senate rules better than all of them. Maybe tama nga na bumalik ka, Tito Sen. 👏
In far as social media is concerned, we need to build up Risa Hontiveros in Facebook and TikTok.
Start na rin tayo in our own families, social circles, and if kaya, sa workplace din.
We also need to amplify the fact na HINDI TOTOO yung PhilHealth issue.
We still have time. 🫡
This is so true. In the PH, we pay a double tax. The government is just so incompetent, inefficient, and corrupt to the point na private citizens/companies pay taxes, then spend money to build “public services” the gov’t should’ve provided for in the first place.
It's sad that private companies are the ones giving us green spaces (e.g. Ayala Triangle Gardens) and transport hubs (e.g. One Ayala) when this should have been taken care of by our taxes
LOOK: Sen. Erwin Tulfo delivers a manifestation on the recent gun-related incident at the Senate and the accusation that the minority knew about the chaos beforehand.
“On May 12, the day before the incident, the new leadership informed the body of the intention to have an all-senator caucus. On May 13, the day of the incident, around 5:02 p.m., it was modified to a majority-only caucus,” Tulfo said.
“Naturally, members of the minority who are no longer part of those deliberations eventually went home,” he added. “To suggest the mere fact that some senators were responsible for what later transpired just because they had already left the premises is speculative, irresponsible, and unsupported by evidence.”

Eleven of the 13 senators behind Monday's Senate coup are facing active or unresolved investigations.
Can a chamber hounded by accountability questions truly hold one of the country’s most powerful officials to account?

Even without a Senate coup, Sara would have been acquitted anyway as a two-thirds Senate vote for conviction is a longshot. So it’s not about the trial. It’s about the evidence that will be presented in the trial. That’s what they don’t want you to see.
The House successfully impeached VP Sara Duterte again. And the nation awaits the Senate to do their constitutional duty to proceed with the impeachment trial forthwith. As we speak, more than three million Filipinos from across the country already signed (and still growing!!) calling for the constitutional process of impeachment to freely proceed. A fair warning to the Senators, including the new leadership, that millions are watching. Respect the Constitution, start the impeachment trial now!

"This is a lawmaker, who chooses to run away from the law and who intentionally did not show up for work for six months only to risk it all for one family. Not for Filipinos, not for the Republic. And we’re all paying for this with our taxes. Think about that."
