@ryanbougie HA, 10min after I posted that the city advised their landline connection for 911 is back up and running. Connection across the north is slowly coming back online but outages expected in a number of communities through the weekend.
@ryanbougie Yukon and much of the NWT. Cell phones currently being used in emergency service dispatch centers and where unavailable residents advised to attend police/fire stations for assistance.
@iceTyyc Stories like this are worrying when myself and 45,000 other residents of the NWT rely on the alberta health care system which officially supplements NTHSSA for a number of services.
Our crews responded to reports of gas odour at Delta RNG Plant in Ladner. We take all reports of gas odour very seriously. At this time, an equipment leak causing the odour is under control. More info on natural gas safety is available at our website. https://t.co/dzaT6aoIs8
@Safety_Canada Thanks for this @Safety_Canada! The list and ability to search for specific grants is beneficial however it does not provide access to any reports or information aside from brief summary. Are the final reports from the recipient organization also available?
In 2011, while on a search and recovery call out to a submerged vehicle, Sheilah drowned when she became entrapped by a steel cable. Today, we remember her as a generous, talented, skilled and courageous SAR member who inspired others and will never be forgotten. #SAR
Hey @spectacularNWT, @GNWT_INF. According to @apple I can’t drive to the NWT (updated today). They show the highway closed just south of #AlexandraFalls and have since last springs flooding. I’ve reported this a handful of times with no change, maybe you’ll have better luck?
We recover the bodies of 100 recreationalists a year in BC. We have the data that proves this study is wrong and sends a dangerous message. Please keep taking the essentials with you. Your life may depend on it and it greatly helps our SAR responders too

@SamLMontano I’ve spent a lot of time teaching @EmergencyInfoBC’s Master of Disaster course. wildfire, earthquake and tsunami always seem to top the list, likely due to recent wildfires in BC and the earthquake/tsunami risk on Vancouver Island. https://t.co/x2u9DXdyYf
@cmushski Thanks for the difference you have made locally in your community and the growth & vision you have brought to SAR at a provincial level over the last 25 years Chris! As I approach 18 years of volunteer and professional SAR, your dedication is something I strive to emulate.
