I hear statements like this all the time:
"Why when Jesus talks about feeding the poor, it’s christianity. But when a politician talks about feeding the poor, it’s socialism?"
This is one of those ideas that sounds profound until you examine it for longer than the lifespan of a fruit fly.
Take the Parable of the Good Samaritan (Luke 10:25–37). A traveler gets robbed and left for dead. A Samaritan comes along and:
Bandages the mans wounds.
Puts him on his own animal.
Takes him to an inn.
Pays his own money for the man's care.
Then Jesus says, "Go and do likewise."
At no point does the Samaritan stop and say, "Hold on while I petition the Roman provincial government to establish the Department of Fallen Travelers."
Notice the subject of that sentence. It isnt Caesar. It isn't the Sanhedrin. It isn't the Ministry of Compassionate Transportation. It's YOU.
This theme shows up repeatedly. Jesus tells individuals to be generous, to care for the poor, to lend expecting nothing in return, to give secretly, to serve one another, to sell possessions and give to those in need. (Luke 12:33, Luke 3:10–14, Luke 6:35–36, Matthew 5:16, Matthew 6:1–4, John 13:12–17.)
If you actually study the Bible, and not use it as a pithy collection of sayings, you learn that Jesus made it very clear that public service to those in need is part of your worship of God and him. It's necessary in order to be a christian. Outsourcing it to government is not good enough.
Christian charity is fundamentally a moral obligation placed on the believer. I can't outsource the giving and service required of me to the Government any more than I could outsource prayer or belief.
If a politician wants to talk about feeding the poor, he's a good Christian if he's doing it himself, with his own money. That's it. (He should also be doing it quietly as Matthew 6:1 says, but that's a different rant.)
If your definition of socialism is simply "helping poor people" then congratulations: your childish understanding of politics almost eclipses your childish understanding of Christianity.
Wait did she really use the phrase “understood the assignment” in a Supreme Court decision? God help us. We have retarded women using TikTok lingo on the Supreme Court. Literally something out of Idiocracy. We are doomed.
🚨 WOW! Justice Alito is absolutely FUMING over SCOTUS giving the green light to birthright citizenship
"In my judgment, the court has made a mistake that will seriously affect the country's future."
"Suppose that a person's only connection to this country is that he was born here to a mother who was present just long enough to give birth and then quickly return to her native country.
Suppose that country is a strategic adversary or enemy of the United States. Suppose the child NEVER visited the United States while grow and was inculcated with hatred of this country.
According to this court, now, that person is a citizen of the United States. He can enter and leave the country as he pleases. He can travel the world on a United States passport.
Even if he plots to harm this country, he cannot be deprived of his status as a citizen, at least under current precedent." — Justice Samuel Alito in his dissent
They say “America has no culture” and what they mean is that the Constitution and Bill of Rights, English common law, the language itself, Thanksgiving and the 4th of July, the nuclear family, the work ethic, rock n roll, country, plus every innovation that turned this place into the world’s superpower don’t count as real culture.
It’s just “whiteness,” this blank or oppressive thing that exists only to be critiqued and replaced.
And this line has become so dominant, so institutionalized in schools, media, HR departments, and elite culture that it’s now the standard water everybody swims in.
Most people don’t even clock it anymore because it’s treated like obvious truth instead of the radical self-erasure project it actually is.
But this isn’t a good faith argument at all, and it carries clear ulterior motives to justify the erasure of America’s historic core and the people who built it.
Because once you get Americans to accept that their culture is either nonexistent or evil, then mass demographic change, open borders, and tearing down the old traditions suddenly look like moral progress instead of an existential attack on everything that made the country function in the first place.
The reality though is that America has one of the strongest and most distinctive cultures on earth, forged from Western and Christian roots and supercharged by liberty and merit.
And the World Cup visitors are reminding us of exactly that right now.
Germans are going viral saying if you want to hate America watch the news but drive through it and meet the actual people.
Europeans are shocked by how genuinely warm, friendly, and generous Americans are in real life and can’t stop talking about the hospitality and customer service.
Japanese fans are writing poetry about unlimited free chips and salsa, while others are losing it over Texas brisket, ranch dressing on everything, Waffle House at 2 am, Buc-ee’s, the ridiculous size of Walmart, and free drink refills that never end.
These outsiders are cutting straight through the institutionalized narrative and showing us what we’ve been gaslit into taking for granted, and that is an abundant, open, high trust, high energy culture that actually works. Americans built it, they live it every day, and they are not apologizing for it or handing it over.
For a US official to fly the flag of another country after having sworn an oath of citizenship that requires sole loyalty to America is nothing but treason!
In an 1892 unanimous opinion by Justice David J. Brewer, the Supreme Court reviewed historical evidence and declared:
“These and many other matters which might be noticed, add a volume of unofficial declarations to the mass of organic utterances that this is a Christian nation"
Islamists at the University of Lyon in France to took over and threatened a Professor lecture and force him out of his class.
In Canada, France, the UK, and the U.S. Islamists are violently taking over campuses. Why does the West tolerate this?
🇯🇵 “People say the rules in Japan are too strict”
Bro: “Yes, they are, but you don’t have to come here”
Q: “So don’t come to Japan if you don’t want to respect the rules?”
Bro: “Yes, don’t come… but if you respect our rules, come — and I’ll drink a beer with you”
Love it
Writing of Robert E Lee, Viscount Garnet Wolseley, who met him during the conflict and later served as the head of the Victorian Commander-in-Chief, wrote, in one of the greatest testaments to one of our greatest men:
"His character has been subjected to that ordeal, and who can point to any spot upon it? His clear, sound judgment, personal courage, untiring activity, genius for war, and absolute devotion to his State mark him out as a public man, as a patriot to be for ever remembered by all Americans.
"His amiability of disposition, deep sympathy with those in pain or sorrow, his love for children, nice sense of personal honour and genial courtesy endeared him to all his friends. I shall never forget his sweet winning smile, nor his clear, honest eyes that seemed to look into your heart whilst they searched your brain.
"I have met many of the great men of my time, but Lee alone impressed me with the feeling that I was in the presence of a man who was cast in a grander mould, and made of different and of finer metal than all other men. He is stamped upon my memory as a being apart and superior to all others in every way: a man with whom none I ever knew, and very few of whom I have read, are worthy to be classed."
@aarmark Botetourt County reaffirmed theirs in 2023. Stronger language was added to the resolution than the original one from 2019. It is still in effect and they probably have no need to reaffirm.
The Bible says “a righteous man regards his beast.”
Serial killers and ritual murderers almost always start out torturing animals. The lesser people of the world who do not regard the lives of animals turn out to be the same people who do not regard the lives of anyone.
In Afghanistan, I never once noticed a Muslim man treat a dog poorly.
Mostly because I was told to look away as they raped young boys, so I might have missed the dog abuse.
During this Ramadan, I would like to respectfully remind my Muslim brothers and sisters that the Prophet Muhammad is dead.
His bones are laid in Al-Masjid an-Nabawi in Medina.
But the Church of the Holy Sepulchre, where they laid the body of Jesus the Christ, is empty.
It is empty.
Come, worship the one true God, who is alive forever and ever, and who holds the keys of death and Hades.
I am sick and tired of politicians proclaiming Ramadan Mubarak and quite deliberately ignoring that today is the beginning of Lent.
This is a Christian land you traitorous wretches.
I know people are busy trying to uncover the deep state and reveal the secrets of the universe but who needs a conspiracy when millions of people will openly turn in their own family members for thought crimes
The whole society is sick
