Facts that I love sharing w/ non-scientists to get their reaction:
1- snakes are tetrapods
2- the shark lineage is older than the tree lineage
3- yes, elephants can swim and they don’t walk in the bottom like hippos
4- there is an omnivorous shark
5- whale sharks have eye teeth
the human has made quite the sandwich for lunch. but when i placed my chin on their knee. and looked up at them softly. they only offered me. a piece of lettuce. nobody talk to me. for the rest of the day

man was staring me on the subway earlier. he leaned forward and I thought “aw well here we go” and prepared for the usual horrific sleazy comment. instead he looked directly in my eyes and said “what’s the point in you wearing a scarf if you have bare legs”. then got up and left.

This is what it looks like when your husband worked a 12 hour day, missed bed time (their thing), and leaves for a week+ in a few days. Soph was ready for bed by 6:15 and was asleep the second she hit her bed but she’ll always wake up for snugs with her daddy 💜
When I saw Oprah interview Michelle Obama, Oprah asked how Michelle got over feeling intimidated sitting at big tables filled with smart, powerful men and Michelle said, “You realize pretty quickly that a lot of them aren’t that smart.” I think about that quote every single day.
