I debated publicly sharing this because it will seem cuckoo to many. It did even to myself at the time.

I had the honor of hugging Erika Kirk on Thursday. Even though I am a nobody in her life, she seems to draw real strength from hugs and most certainly prayers. I wrapped my arms tight around her and whispered in her ear: “you are surrounded by an army, seen and unseen.”

This is a 2 Kings 6:16-17 reference. But it’s not like me to talk like that (anymore) and so I was surprised by my own words. Did I really say that?

With tears in her eyes she thanked me for the blueberries I sent a day earlier for her little girl. Her little girl who was told her daddy had to go on a “work trip with Jesus to afford her blueberry budget.” I almost crumpled I was so humbled by her gratitude for my meager gift.

I left to give her a private moment with another colleague in media.

Five minutes after leaving the room I blurted out to a friend mid-conversation that it felt like my body was on fire. I had tingles all over.

What the Pentecostal nonsense was this?

The only explanation I can give is that the Holy Spirit is real and Erika Kirk is truly surrounded by the Unseen.

Best of luck to the Kirk enemies because I now know they will never prevail.
