So I suspect that the spread of NDM is occurring mostly through vertical transmission in each species rather than horizontal plasmid transfer. Iโm curious whether you agree with this interpretation, and if so, what you think might be the underlying reason.
@martina70003110 I remembered my question! That was in your presentation, It appeared that NDM was spreading through different types of plasmids depending on the species.
@EpicFeil_ Thank you for your detailed comment. Although aerobactin is associated with siderophores, in my experience, 6% KPC-producing KP were string test positive, of which <1% had rmpA on plasmid. So i recommend string test. In addition, clinical context could be helpful.
@EpicFeil_ it was great lecture which was very impressive! I have a question regarding klebsiella isolates with iuc3. I am wondering whether all of them showed string test positivity, considering that consensus for definition of hypervirulence is lack and phenotype could be a key
Iโm pleased to receive the ESCMID Travel Grant for #ESCMIDGlobal2025.
I will be presenting my research on Genomic Insights for Enterococcus faecium and look forward to meaningful discussions.
See you at the congress!

With the UKโs first human case of avian flu confirmed, itโs crucial to discuss the role of new respiratory diagnostic panels in detecting avian flu. How effective are they against emerging strains like H5N1? This needs further evaluation. ๐ฌ #Diagnostics

Lab Medicine sends out certificates like this, which I find quite interesting. I reviewed two papers last year, but they donโt mention the number of reviews. ๐#labmed
@JaviF_86 Happy to hear youโre exploring new ideas in this field! Are you planning to attend ECCMID this year? Itโd be fantastic to see how your approaches are evolving. Looking forward to hearing more!

@micro_rp it was great opportunity to hear your lecture in Seoul. In your talk, deescalation against GNR were not affected by the use of multiplex molecular assay, which possibly affected by absence of esbls in multiplex panel. I wonder what will improve the deescalation of GNR.
