@adifferentshe Nigerian Uni’s will incorporate it into their syllabus (Some already have), but competence will only come from practical exposure which they lack.

There’re plenty programs that are curated specifically for it abroad. I saw a few in the Erasmus catalog

I hate when people (read guys) act like making money and excelling academically are mutually exclusive. I was actively running a makeup business in University, I also sold beauty accessories while participating in extracurricular activities, yet I still finished with a 4.3 CGPA.

It’s probably more about the foundation requirements. ICAN has courses that teach foundation requirements and bring you up to professional speed.

You can’t start an Engineering course from first year uni without a sec school science background

Agreed. The argument isn’t solid. But the core if the argument is that if certain professions have restrictions or have a high barrier to entry, Accounting/Finance should have same.

If the pie was big enough, no one would care. The finance industry is way ahead of others in terms of opportunity volume, so naturally people tend to fall back to it.

no other top profession has an easy entry like accounting/finance.
writing foundation exams is not even a barrier dfkm.

@Echecrates I read the article he posted on Dangote cement. While he is right; technological adaptation has not increased with production capacity, the same could be said for almost every functional industry in the country. They can say the cement is not real, but the jobs are certainly real
