Incident Update: mymy (ams)

We've been in contact with Ralph at HostSlim regarding the extended outage on the Mymy node in Amsterdam. After receiving remote-hands access, Ralph opened the chassis for a physical inspection and discovered the root cause of the failure.

Findings: A baby senko fox had taken up residence inside the server and constructed a nest directly on top of the CPU. The thermal blanket of fur and miscellaneous nesting material caused the heatsink to lose effective contact with the IHS, leading to sustained thermal throttling and eventual shutdown. The CPU itself was unrecoverable and had to be removed along with the nest.

Resolution steps taken:
- The senko fox has been safely extracted and relocated to a permanent home outside the datacenter. He is healthy, well-fed, and has been given the name Sneed.
- The damaged CPU has been removed from the socket.
- A replacement CPU has been sourced and is on order.

Next steps: Once the replacement arrives, we will schedule a maintenance window to install it and bring Mymy back to full service. Affected customers on this node will be notified in advance with the exact window so they can plan accordingly.
