We’re heartbroken. Nicky Gavron was Loop Labs’ Founder and Chairperson. She was a true visionary and force for good throughout her life. Our deep condolences to her family and loved ones. RIP dear Nicky.
The sun shone for the launch of Up the Allotments! Our workshop series being held at Manor Park Community Garden and Reynolds Avenue Allotments. The Dig for Victory workshop was followed by lunch, chatting and much merriment. This Saturday 1st June at 10am is the next instalment!
'It’s brilliant to see this research confirming that trees are literal life-savers, protecting city-dwellers against the impacts of heatwaves in urban areas. This should spur us all on to expand our urban forests as a key action to adapt to a warmer future climate. We hope that policy-makers and city planners take note!' - Jessica Allan, Science & Action Research Manager

Do you know where London’s first lemon tree growing on the street can be seen? Garden Walk, Shoreditch of course!
🍋📖Look out for lemons, and a new edition of London’s Street Trees, later this year.
Thanks @hackneycouncil and @TM_Hackney for careful planting today.

🤔 Why can’t the government stop the use of peat for horticulture?
"If the twin crises of nature and climate are to be addressed, the government must change its approach to protecting peatlands", argues @WildlifeTrusts' @ailis_watt in our latest blog 👇

The sun shone for us at the Flourish Workshop held at Abbey Gardens this past weekend. Great fun planting seeds with @GallionsSchool and the lovely garden regulars. Funded by @FdnFutureLondon Delicious food too, thanks to Xuan @_AbbeyGardens !
"...lower-income areas have far fewer trees than wealthier ones." Nearly half of English neighbourhoods ‘have less than 10% tree cover’ https://t.co/frpNCLTj8i
My kids would like to say a sincere thank U to all that stayed to hear them perform at #breatheEllaevent on the 10th anniversary of their Ella’s passing. They’re overwhelmed so many of you came & didn’t leave when they started singing. They had reoccurring nightmares about that😂
