What ever hate there is for Ciri is honestly forced and fake. She was built up well to be a future Witcher to match Geralt and I want to see where she goes.
I like strong male and female leads but, I also dislike forced, poorly written ones too.
This is NOT that issue.
The Witcher 4’s narrative lead Philipp Weber says he initially wanted Geralt to remain the protagonist too.
Weber says he understands why some fans are struggling with Ciri taking the lead, admitting he “felt like that at the start.”
He says it’s CD Projekt Red’s job to prove that Ciri is a worthy main character, adding that they are taking that responsibility seriously.
And for Geralt fans, Weber says Geralt “will always have an important role.”
