What a great opportunity for a derserving athlete, clutch performance! Like a very well worn tire, that record had gotten enough mileage 🤣

[Moorhead Spuds T&F @SpudTrack]

Congrats to Michael Haugo on his runner up finish in Long Jump and SCHOOL RECORD🔥🔥🔥

I am assuming this could help with the beet truck driver shortage, maybe the school bus driver shortage. Our economy can benefit from people eager to work, contributing a valuable benefit.

This law will make our communities safer for all Minnesotans. Thank you to the countless advocates – from labor unions to law enforcement to our immigrant community – for leading the charge. https://t.co/9x4mZMmVKq

@2ndSpudsGoalie @Spud_Hockey Here's a rink I put in the yard to get some extra ice time. Two boys in hockey. I'm a MHD '69 grad.

Here's the '69 Legion team, state runner-ups.

All the best to the Moorhead Blues baseball team as they begin tournament play later this week.

Here is the 1982 team that was managed by legendary coach Bucky Burgau.

[Laurence Anderson @L8ur1e]

@MHDSpudHistory @MHSSpuds @MoorheadSchools @StribSports @MSHSLjohn My sister was on that first tennis team! Way to go Laurie! She had a cannon serve.

I had an opportunity to met Mr. Owens, at a coaching conference, NDSU, hosted by coach Whiting, around 1977. Probably the most famous person I'll ever meet.

[HOMAGE @HOMAGE]

87 years ago today Jesse Owens re-wrote the record books.

In the greatest 45 minutes ever in sports, the OSU sophomore tied the world record in the 100-yard dash and then set the world record in the long jump, the 220-yard dash and the 220 low hurdles. Pay homage.

[Laurence Anderson @L8ur1e]

@MSHSL There is a powerful argument that we should not be requiring young men to play this violent, dangerous game (football) in order to qualify for a scholarship. Colleges that have dropped FB may be looking to VB as a recruiting tool to replace enrollment lost. D3?

[Laurence Anderson @L8ur1e]

@MSHSL Usually the first step is to begin as a club sport. Actually I see this vote as a sign it is getting traction. A great game that would fit into the wheelhouse of many young men.

@MoorheadSchools I was in his brother Bruce's graduating class, and my brother Harold was in brother Paul's class. All quality people, 56560

@MoorheadSchools @spudspeech Can't help myself... Our eldest granddaughter is bottom left in the picture...

[Laurence Anderson @L8ur1e]

@Alnnsalman @SpudTrack If you are really old like me, that time is about 9.9 for a 100 yard conversion. Open to correction on that. Very impressive.

[Laurence Anderson @L8ur1e]

As a former boy scout, I find it troubling this is getting traction. Trustworthy, loyal, helpful, friendly,,, clean, reverent . They say as you get older it is important to have a few things memorized.

And of course in those two years Moorhead made it all the way to the state final game. The CC field house was packed, and rocking!

[Chris Nelson @2ndSpudsGoalie]

@MHDSpudHistory @MHSSpuds I would agree however I’ve got very fond memories of BB playoff games in the Concordia Fieldhouse in ‘67 and ‘68. Good teams. Exciting games. Good luck to these guys!

[Tom (b) Reed @tbreed]

Also from the “I’m an awesome DIYer” files: I have a gash on my neck I’m calling a “Handyperson’s Hickey” from when a piece of plywood tried to decapitate me.

I retaliated with a jigsaw and plywood has been humbled.

[Laurence Anderson @L8ur1e]

That is me in the bottom left. I can remember the game, late in the season.

@GashouseILM From 1963-1975 the Spuds had several different “M” on their helmets.

Here are mini helmets made by @417helmets showing the variety used …

When buying tickets I told the guy the last time I was at a Twins game outside Killebrew hit a home run...He was impressed. 2 granddaughters playing, so had to be there.

This is great news! Have to look on the bright side. This gives the Colts an opportunity to develop the entire team. When the time is right, a defense will have a lot on its mind trying to stop them.

Coach Langer has paid his dues. He is a believer in developing every player on his squad, coaching in youth hockey in Bismarck more than two decades ago. Our son learned about hockey and hard work from him.
