Your actions are becoming increasingly difficult to defend, especially when your decisions come across as discriminatory and outright devious. It’s beyond frustrating to see how you’ve handled the concert announcement and ticketing process for this upcoming tour.
Let’s break it down:
1. Less Than Two Months’ Notice (AGAIN)?
Announcing a concert of this scale with such short notice is a blatant disregard for ARMY’s time, finances, travel/visa applications and overall ability to plan our lives. Do you not recognize the effort and resources ARMY need to make these events possible?
2. Sneaky Membership Conditions?
Releasing details about U.S.-only pre-sales well AFTER the membership renewal period is not just poor communication—it’s outright manipulative. This condition should have been clearly outlined from the beginning. To allow ARMY to decide which memberships we should sign up to. Not everyone is in such a financially privileged position as to sign up to and annually renew three different regional club memberships. Why are you penalizing fans who were proactive in their support through memberships, only to spring this restriction at the last minute?
3. US-Centric Concert Distribution
BTS broke barriers in the global music industry because of GLOBAL ARMY, not just U.S. ARMY. Yet here you are, disproportionately skewing concert dates toward the U.S. again, as if the rest of the world doesn’t matter. Europe, South America, Africa and Oceania—do these regions not deserve to celebrate BTS’s success and legacy in equal measure? I'd like to remind you that many of these regions you've missed are also well within the Top 10 music markets in the world.
4. Disrespecting ARMY’s Efforts
BTS is where they are today because of ARMY worldwide—not because of a single market. By prioritizing one region REPEATEDLY, you disregard over a decade of effort by ARMYs in every corner of the world who have worked tirelessly to bring BTS’s music and message to the global stage.
BigHit and HYBE, your stance is growing increasingly indefensible. You are alienating the very fandom that propelled BTS and in turn your success to unprecedented heights. If these are the kinds of decisions you’re making now, it begs the question: where do you draw the line? Do you still recognize ARMY’s invaluable contributions, or have we been reduced to nothing more than a revenue stream to exploit?
With each passing day, your actions make you resemble the very industry BTS and ARMY have spent the past decade working tirelessly to challenge and reform. Instead of standing with us in that fight, it feels like you’re succumbing to the same manipulative systems we sought to dismantle together.
I'm fucking tired.
