HEAR IT: Abandoned in #Sudan by @JoeBiden and @SecBlinken: Asiel Mohamed's 11-day nightmare amid lack of State Department Support
Asiel Mohamed's nightmare began just five days after arriving in Sudan on April 10, 2023. The sound of bombs, missiles, and heavy artillery woke her and her family up, and they continued to hear explosions and gunfire for the next eleven days. As an American citizen, Asiel was deeply disappointed by the lack of organization and communication from the State Department, which left her and her family feeling helpless and abandoned. She was even more surprised that while the US was telling her, as a taxpayer, that there was no evacuation plan for her and others, billions of dollars were going to #Ukraine, she told Simon Ateba in an interview on Thursday.

Honestly, the white people advocating and taking trips to Latin America really also need to be on the front lines for immigration rights.

On the CTA and these two tíos are talking about Pancho Villa and Indigenous history. To have the transfer of education through conversation on a train between mi gente about mi gente is so wholesome❤️
For the people that always like stories, do they really even like it? I posted 30 seconds a long text story and someone liked it. The duration and the act of reading doesn’t add up smh
It’s sad that I’ve become numb to hearing bullets. It’s beyond more sad to know lives are being taken or affected by guns.
Today mid-day, three lives were taken a block away from me
The violence in Chicago is beyond fucked up. We need long term solutions and resources not just BS fluff proposals with no backbone. No more deaths please
