Wife is in labour, and her husband is out of town.
Her younger sister and her husbandβs younger sister are with her at the hospital.
Her cervix was fully dilated, but her pelvic bone was not giving enough room for the baby to come down. The doctors recommended CS.
The husbandβs younger sister called her brother and said, βYour wife is being lazy. She doesn't want to push. She wants CS because she saw someone do it and it was quick.β
The husband asked her to give the phone to the matron.
He told the matron to send his sister out of the hospital and instructed them to go ahead with the CS.
People are traveling for hookup, casual sex and all, and you say I am doing too much by traveling for UpperRoom and other things that concern my faith.
Wuna get mind sha. See audacity.
As a kid, there was a Bible passage I never believed: "can a mother forget her suckling child?"
It didn't stop there, it went on, "they may forget..."
I told myself, no naa π
Growing up and seeing this Lindsay Clancy's case, don't worry, Bible too real, give it time.
Got my first βDadaβ today. π₯Ή

I send my parents 200,000 naira monthly. My elder brother found out and started adding 50,000 naira, making it 250,000 naira total. I send it all directly to my father.
Last month I exceeded my budget and could not send my part. I informed my father and forwarded him the 50,000 naira my brother sent.
My mother called. She had already budgeted her share from what he gives her for something important. I asked how much my father usually gives her so I could send that directly.
She said 150,000 to 200,000 naira.
I paused. I actually thought it wouldn't be more than 100,000 naira.
I send my father 250,000 naira and he gives my mother almost everything. My father is not a rich man. He really makes nothing elsewhere.
And the 50,000 naira I sent him last month when I was short? He had already forwarded it to her.
Well, I sent her an extra 60,000 naira and told her to make do with that.
The most interesting part is that my mother has no idea the amount I send to my father monthly. She only knows that I send them money.
My father is one of the most selfless people I know. β€οΈ
Above all, love God.
When I see people cry about rejections, it reinforces belief on why people generally turn out with different life outputs.

Sometime last month, I was sitting in my veranda.
Then my daughter came to me that she wanted to show me her assignment.
I asked her to sit on my lap and she refused.
Me: come, sit here.
Her: No daddy, let me get another chair.
I insisted, and she obliged.
When we were done, I kissed her forehead and asked her to go. As she walked away, I called her back.
Me: I asked you to sit on my lap but you refused, why?
Her: Daddy, because it's not proper for a girl to sit on a man's lap.
Me: But I am not just any man, I am your father.
Me: I agree with you, and you should not sit on any man's lap. But you should trust your father to always protect you, and he won't harm you.
Her: Okay, daddy.
I knew my wife had been giving her all those orientations, and I was very pleased with what my daughter did.
Giving me the confidence that she's becoming more self-aware at almost 13.
Another day, I was about to drive out, and I asked her to go open the gate for me.
She was putting on shorts that were revealing her thighs.
She quietly went into her room, put on a long gown and came outside to open the gate.
I observed what she did and smiled quietly but didn't say anything.
I want to let some of you married men to know that some of these things are what your wives teach your daughters when you're not there.
And you're not so self-conscious as to even recognize the efforts of your wife.
You overlook these things and still do not appreciate your wife because she's not bringing in any money, and you think that makes her a liability or that she is not contributing much to your life.
You'll know your wife's level of moral assertiveness and discernment from the way your children behave in certain situations they find themselves in.
Especially in the public.
And especially your daughters.
Everything is not about money.
When you ask a woman what she is bringing to the table, this is part of it.
Your child will not just automatically learn morals or behavioral etiquette just like that, without a self-conscious mother.
The school, movies, church or even books may not be as effective as their mother's guidance.
And when you notice these things, do not just trivialize them or act as if they're normal or expected.
Learn to draw your wife's attention to what you observed, and thank her for her efforts.
That's why you're her husband.
End.
Nigeria is dangerously not inclusive.
I know this doctor that stammers. When he goes for interview, he sees his colleague spend up to 30 mins, but his interviews doesn't go past 5 mins. He could tell they just want to dismiss him and move to the next person.
The doctor went for his PLAB exam in England. A day was set aside for doctors with speech difficulty. They were given extra time and asked if the time would be enough for them. He passed the PLAB. In Nigeria, when he takes exam, he has to finish within the alloted time given to people without difficulty.
How do we expect perfection from people who are already with personal difficulties? We need to imbibe grace as a people.
Life Update.
Today, I stood before colleagues, research leaders, mentors and a board to deliver the presentation mandated for admission to my PhD viva.
I passed the presentation & have been admitted. π«‘
Almost at the finish line, then the reintroduction will be official. π¨βπ
I like what Eric Gugua is doing with Beyond Conversation.
He has used social media to ask young people better questions about identity, money, discipline, belief, power and purpose. Now he is moving those conversations from the timeline into physical rooms.
Port Harcourt hosted an edition last weekend. Owerri and Ghana are next.
That move matters. Valuable ideas should not live only as screenshots and bookmarked threads. People need rooms where they can listen, disagree, ask clumsy questions and meet others doing serious work.
I wish the young man well.
I also hope more young creators follow that path: build trust online, then create useful things people can experience together offline.
The timeline is good. A real room is better.
Clarity changes everything.
Youβre not lazy. Youβre just unclear.
So you keep switching directions, taking different courses, starting new things and chasing every opportunity.
Once you know exactly what you want, everything gets easier.
