Battery science has lost a giant. It was with great sadness that we learned of the passing of Nobel Laureate John Goodenough. Our thoughts are with his family, friends and colleagues.
ESDLab members Aslan Kosakian, Michael Moore, and Jiafei Liu recently attended the GRS (23-24th July 2022) and GRC (24-29th July 2022) in Smithfield, RI. Picture are Jiafei with her & Fei's (who could not attend) posters and the group with Sadia Kabir, Staff Scientist at Twelve.
ESDLab members Andrey Volkov and Ambuj Punia recently attended 39th International Symposium on Combustion. Below is a picture of Andrey with his poster on Methane Thermal Decomposition.
@catherine_tays When using an alkaline feed solution I'd say CCS is better since membranes swell when printed on. But if we want to eventually use pure water CCM would be better since it would in theory improve anion conduction between membrane and catalyst as they're in direct contact.

@catherine_tays Then the other factors that affect durability occur while the cell is being tested. Processes like how the catalyst layer interacts with the electricity being put through it and how it handles the acidic medium, such as if it dissolves or not will affect durability. -Eric
@catherine_tays The viscosity and surface tension are mainly important for creating a nice droplet when being printed. This could have an effect on durability since it helps determine the structure of the catalyst layer as the fluid wets the membrane surface and evaporates. -Eric
