Speaker of the DZNE. Dep. for Systems Medicine and Epigenetics. We study brain diseases with a focus on stratified therapies, epigenetics and RNA therapeutics
The most kissed girl worldwide. Göttingen‘s Gänseliesel! Congrats to Dr. Sophie Schröder who defended her PhD thesis today.SUMMA CUM LAUDE👍well deserved Sophie
We analyzed the plasma #microRNAome from the #ADNI study. Our findings help early diagnosis of #Alzheimers and predict #MCI to AD conversion. Great team at#BostonUniversity #IUSM and #DZNE. https://t.co/qopVPgw06o or see me talking at #AAIC.https://t.co/kpp1pNn2Oj
The #nonCoding#RNAome offers a largely untapped potential for drug discovery! Check out Sophie as she explains her study on a novel lncRNA in #AlzheimersDisease. Big thanks to #DZNE and our collaborator from #BostonUniversity.

Lecanemab is approved in the UK for #Alzheimer's disease, following the earlier approval by the FDA. However, the cost will not be covered by insurance. EMA didnt approve Lecanemab. Difficult times for Europeans at risk for AD…but we need to see these drugs in real life setting
The EMA rejected Lecanemab's approval, even though countries like the US and Japan are treating early Alzheimer's with it. Agreed…it’s only one step in the fight against Alzheimer's, but an important one …now only wealthy Europeans can benefit…or you emigrate…
Strange...
Please check out our Neuroepigenetics perspective session today at the AAIC Meeting in Philadelphia today, also available via zoom. great speakers.

Happy to have Prof Delalle from Boston over so we could finish our first paper on the ADNI study funded by NIH. 3 PM…almost felt like being back @Harvard … little did we know about the submission system😂big txs to the late night team Tona & Dennis as well as Lalit & Ranjit🍾
So cool to be back in Boston for the Tsai lab anniversary #picower being at my old bench and having intense lab meetings with the old crew. Txs Li Huei
@SR_neurostar Dito!
Our latest study on #Schizophrenia: miR-99b is downregulated in patients' prefrontal cortex and blood (data from 500+ individuals of the PsyCourse study) and controls the inflammasome via the Zbp1 transcript. #NonCodingRNA#RNATherapeutics

Exercise is a key strategy to avoid age associated dementia. In out latest work the team has analyzed the hippocampal transcriptome at the single cell level after4 weeks of exercise. Some surprising findings . Txs to Aditi and the team @ #dzne

The#bathrobe challenge
The German Dementia Aid is calling for the #bathrobe challenge in September to show solidarity with those affected and relatives for incurable Alzheimer‘s disease and also to support Alzheimer’s and dementia research. The Greifwald/Göttingen team 👍
To boost your cognitive reserve is the best strategy to prevent dementia. Regular exercise is one way. The underlying mechanisms are still not understood. Our latest study addresses this question at the single cell level in the adult hippocampus https://t.co/3auVoHgJEo
Altstadt run through historic göttingen. Our DZNE team made the 5,3 km all below 30 min ranking 140 out of 304👍Strong correlation of performance to age. The older the better. Guess they are more concerned about the cognitive reserve. Was great fun👍
Home office? Inspiring atmosphere @ the Brain Epitranscriptomics Meeting on novel translational perspectives👍getting ready for the presentation
#rna#emmcs
The EMCCS (European Molecular and Cellular Cognition Society) has its meeting on beautiful sardinia… brilliant talk ranging from epigenetic to meta plasticity… big thanks also to our colleagues from usa and asia … and our local organizers anna and ricardo…some of us @ Nora
