😡So cost of EDFC alone went ~₹22,819 Crore above TOTAL Estimated COMBINED cost due to Incompetence of CONgress.

And EDFC isn't just another railway line.

It's freight infrastructure designed to decongest passenger routes, move goods faster, reduce logistics costs and create new industrial hubs.

On 22nd June 2015, off the coast of Odisha, second officer Manoj Chauhan spotted a small boat through his binoculars, 2.5 km away.

Men on board were waving their shirts.

The captain who saw that signal was a woman, and what happened next made her the first woman in the world to win the highest bravery award the shipping industry gives.

Her name is Radhika Menon.

She is from Kodungallur in Kerala, and she is the first woman ever to captain a ship in the Indian Merchant Navy.

That day she was in command of the oil tanker Sampurna Swarajya, sailing down the east coast of India. A deep depression at sea had brought winds of 60 to 70 knots and waves 25 to 27 feet high. The tanker itself was being thrown around in it.

The boat Chauhan had spotted was called the Durgamma, a small fishing vessel from Andhra Pradesh. Its engine had failed and its anchor was gone. It had drifted for days from Kakinada all the way to Gopalpur, at the mercy of the storm. There were 7 fishermen on board, including a 15 year old boy. Their food had washed away. They were surviving on ice from the cold storage.

They had given up hope of being found.

Menon looked at the boat through her binoculars and made a decision in seconds. She has said her focus was on the boy. She knew that if she did not pick them up, none of them would survive.

A large tanker cannot simply pull alongside a small fishing boat in a storm like that and expect it to be safe. It took 3 attempts, using a pilot ladder lowered down the side of the tanker, with life jackets on standby, before all 7 men were finally brought aboard.

They stayed on her ship for about a week before it reached port and they were reunited with their families.

She has said plainly that an award was the last thing on her mind that day. She considered it her duty.

The International Maritime Organisation disagreed with how ordinary she made it sound. On 21st November 2016, at its headquarters in London, it gave her the Award for Exceptional Bravery at Sea.

No woman, in any country, in the history of that award, had ever received it before.

She said afterwards that it was the greatest honour any seafarer could receive, and that it was worth cherishing.

7 men are alive today because a woman looking through a pair of binoculars in a storm did not look away.

She is Ramabai Ranveer, a 47-year-old mother from Ambajogai in Maharashtra.

She works hard to support her family and her daughters’ education. After the death of her husband, the responsibility of raising and educating her two daughters fell on her shoulders.

When she heard about a local marathon called Amrit Daud, she decided to participate. The winner would receive Rs 3000. For many people, Rs 3000 may seem like a small amount.

But for a mother struggling to support her children’s dreams, that money meant something much bigger. It could help with education. It could help with fees. It could help her daughters move one step closer to their dreams.

She did not have proper running shoes, professional sportswear, or special training. But she had something much stronger than all of that....a dream for her daughters and the determination to make sure their education continued.

On the day of the race, she arrived wearing a simple saree and slippers. Around her were younger runners, many of them better prepared and wearing proper running shoes. But Ramabai was there with only one goal in her heart: to run for her daughters and their future.

As the race began, her slippers started causing problems and slowing her down. She could have stopped. She could have given up. But she didn’t. Instead, Ramabai removed her slippers, held them in her hands, and continued running barefoot.

Imagine that moment. A 47-year-old mother, running on the road without shoes, wearing a saree, competing against younger runners with proper running shoes. Every step must have been difficult, but the thought of her daughters and their education gave her the strength to keep moving forward.

And then, she did something truly incredible. Ramabai Ranveer crossed the finish line first and won the marathon. She won the Rs 3000 prize money that she had hoped to use to support her daughters’ education.

Respect to you, Ramabai Ji. There is no greater warrior than a mother.

Maharashtra govt should help fund her daughters’ education. When so many freebies and welfare schemes are being offered, why shouldn’t meaningful support be given to those who truly need it and are working hard to build a better future?

She needs a big applause for what India has pulled with a 7.8% growth during one of the toughest global economic climate year.

She has delivered consistent growth for India, maneuvering India through multiple crises, while keeping inflation low and reducing deficit.

She just doesn't get enough credit for what she has done. In fact, she gets hate and mockery mostly. I think just because she's a woman.

But most people are being constantly blackpilled about the economy by foreign adversarial and political propaganda.

They keep parroting "high tax" "high inflation" as if everything was lower before. But the truth is, they were much higher and she has brought all down (taxes, deficit, NPAs, and inflation) while keeping growth good.

Even under this post we will find people complaining because that's how powerful the propaganda is. It is easy to blackpill and make people feel miserable when actually things are better now than before in so many ways.

There is a wall of concrete in China holding back so much water that 2 scientists sat down and calculated what it does to the length of a day on Earth.

It does something. They measured it.

The Three Gorges Dam sits on the Yangtze. Its reservoir holds about 40 cubic kilometres of water, roughly 10 trillion gallons, and it holds it 175 metres above sea level.

That is 39 trillion kilograms of water, lifted up and parked in one place.

The physics is the same as a figure skater. Arms pulled in, they spin faster. Arms out, they slow down. Move mass away from the axis of a spinning object and it slows.

Earth is a spinning object.

In 2005, Benjamin Fong Chao at NASA Goddard and Richard Gross at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory worked out the numbers. A full Three Gorges reservoir would lengthen every day on Earth by 0.06 microseconds, and shift the position of the pole by about 2 centimetres.

The reservoir first reached that level in October 2010.

Nobody has ever missed a train because of it. That is not the point.

The point is the category of thing that normally does this.

The 2004 Sumatra earthquake, the one that caused the Indian Ocean tsunami, shortened the day by 2.68 microseconds. The 2011 Japan earthquake sped the planet up by about 1.8 microseconds.

Those are earthquakes. Tectonic plates. Forces that build over millions of years.

The dam did it with standing water, because somebody decided to put it there.

And it is not alone. A study out of Harvard found that the water held behind roughly 7,000 dams built since the 19th century has shifted the position of the North Pole by about 1 metre, and very slightly lowered global sea level, because all that water is sitting on land instead of in the ocean.

Groundwater does it too. Between 1993 and 2010, humans pumped out around 2,150 gigatonnes of it. That raised sea level by more than 6 millimetres and moved the Earth's rotational axis about 80 centimetres to the east.

We are already at the scale where the planet responds.

Now the part that matters for anyone living in India or Bangladesh.

In July 2025, machinery arrived at the edge of a canyon in Medog county, in southeastern Tibet. Premier Li Qiang announced the start of construction on what will be the largest hydropower project on Earth.

It is on the Yarlung Tsangpo. The river drops about 2,000 metres in the space of 50 kilometres there, through one of the deepest canyons in the world. That drop is the reason engineers want it.

The projected output is around 3 times that of Three Gorges. The cost is put at about 170 billion dollars. Completion is expected around 2035.

The Yarlung Tsangpo does not stay in Tibet. It crosses into India, where it is called the Brahmaputra, and then flows into Bangladesh.

Millions of people plant and harvest according to when that river rises and falls. Fish migrate on it. The silt it carries builds the land they farm on.

All of that is decided upstream, in another country, by whoever operates the gates.

Nobody has publicly calculated what a structure 3 times the size of Three Gorges does to the spin of the planet.

And it is going into the Himalaya, which is the most seismically active mountain range on Earth, and which spent this week demonstrating exactly how fast water can come down it.

The old assumption was that geology moves slowly and humans move fast, on separate timescales that never really touch.

That assumption is finished. We are now building at the scale where the Earth notices.

What hapened next is truly heartwarming. The Uttar Pradesh rescue and wildlife teams stepped in and safely rescued all five elephants. 🙏❤️

In the midst of such a challenging situation, this is a beautiful example of compassion, courage and humanity towards wildlife.
