Nucleic Acid Chemistry - Group of Dr. Jory Lietard
We synthesize DNA, RNA, XNA microarrays by photolithography for an evergrowing range of applications
Interested in a PhD position in Nucleic Acid Chemistry and microarray photolithography? There's one opening up for May 2026, to work on RNA arrays, libraries and sequencing. It is a University-funded, 4-year PhD position. Apply by March 27th!

Talking about my favourite topic at the Young Researchers Symposium at #IRT2024_Tokyo 😀 Many thanks to the organisers of this event and the IRT for putting together such an amazing program, and to @LabLietard and @univienna for supporting my participation 🇯🇵🧬
This week in Cambridge #CamNA24 was my first time presenting some of my postdoc work done at @LabLietard in Vienna! Such a cool opportunity, to hear so many great talks and have rich conversations in a beautiful place🧬👩🏻🔬
Happily presenting the work from my stay @Hollensteinlab (thanks to a short-term fellowship by @FEBSnews ❤) at the IRT2024 in Tokyo! This meeting has been a blast so far 🤩 and some contributions from @LabLietard are still ahead of us 😎
The complete Nucleic Acid Microarray Photolithography gang, an Austro-German specialty now, reunited in Gmunden for our first annual meeting. Heatwave included.
Back from a wonderful 1st Meeting on NA Microarray Photolithography in beautiful Gmunden, talking about science and life, with lots of new ideas and motivation 🤩 @LabLietard
Bit of a DIY streak here. We just published two methodology papers describing how to make DNA and RNA microarrays using enzymes, and you can (almost) do this at home. Take a look: https://t.co/hk8y9hKL8t

Which brings me to introduce the newest additions: Dr. Gisela Ibáñez who's working on the EU/Horizon-funded BIOASSEMBLER project, Igor Ilić who will make antisense oligo libraries a reality, and Andreas Haslinger on siRNA libraries and protein binding!
An 8-bit monochrome palette of fluorescent nucleic acid sequences for DNA-based painting from the @LabLietard lab is the latest article in our #DNA#nanotechnology themed collection! Check it out 👇

Many thanks to @CampusFrance and @IF_Autriche for supporting Tadija Kekić's research stay at the @IBMM_Balard and @ChemBioNAC through a French Government Scholarship. Perfect opportunity to learn new techniques and exchange know-how and knowledge!
Congrats to Igor Ilić for a FANA-tastic Master thesis defense and an excellent work in exploring antisense libraries on microarrays. Proud of ya! Care to stick with us?
On tour: This week, Tadija gave a talk on his work on the sequence-dependent fluorescence of Cy dyes at the #DoSChem International Student Symposium at @univienna, before heading off to Graz to the Austrian CARLA Camp hosted by #PhotonicsAustria with his poster!
The final chapter of a long series of publications is out: https://t.co/nmkSPZ5rKv and with it, the now complete study of the sequence-dependence of Cy3, Cy5 and fluorescein in 3', 5', ssDNA, dsDNA, you name it. Incidentally, the first paper of our research group!
