The quality of constitutional 'thinking' in Labour is so poor.

It's just a liberal obsession with superficially 'fair' forms and process instead a socialist reading of power, mandates, and accountability.

Lots of the ideas here seem sensible. Let’s solve the specific problem (concerns about patronage) and if we want to be radical be radical about the issues people really care about.

@labour4theking Orwell’s reference to the Crown remaining in a socialist Britain in the Lion and the Unicorn comes to mind. Also, Eugene Forsey, the great Canadian socialist, activist, and constitutional theorist, was an ardent monarchist.

The monarchy is not in imminent danger so the main aims of this group are: (1) build support for the monarchy within the party (2) organise a social at Labour conference 2023 (3) increase custom for pubs called The Rose and Crown
