This morning I had the opportunity to meet with PM Sovaleni & several of his Ministers. We discussed a number of issues; from climate change & labour mobility to the preservation of arts & culture, & education —a key component of our partnership. 🤝🏽🇹🇴
I’ve just joined @UniSouthPacific Vice Chancellor Pal Ahluwalia in signing the next phase of our 10 year partnership. ✍🏽🤝🏽 A bedrock for regionalism and an institution that continues to serve the region, protect Pacific knowledge and lead on many of our shared priorities. 🇳🇿🇫🇯
I’m currently in the Pacific reaffirming our ties with our Pacific whānau. In underlining the spirit of our partnership, I’m just as pleased to be able to announce support as we tackle climate change together as a region. 🤝🏽🌎

This morning I met my counterparts Fiji’s Deputy Prime Ministers’ Kamikamica and. 🇫🇯🇳🇿 we discussed a lot; climate change, the global inflation spike, our responses to extreme weather events, and the workforce & economic connections that add so much value to both Fiji & NZ. 🤝🏽
We’re into the Fiji leg of the Pacific Mission and it’s great to be back. 🇫🇯 We share a steadfast, close and friendly relationship — with strong people-to-people ties. 🤝🏽
Halo olgeta from 🇸🇧! Pleased to be here to reconnect + reaffirm the strength of our relationship. I was received by Jeremiah Manele, Min of Foreign Affairs. I then met with the GG Sir David Vunagi — & gifted him a framed photo of when he was at St John’s College in AKL in 1990!
#PacificMission: Deputy Prime Minister Carmel Sepuloni and the NZ Delegation received a warm reception from representatives of the Solomon Islands. This is the first visit since 2019 due to the global pandemic.

Four class of 08 buddies sharing a moment and a ‘cheers’ after a beautiful valedictory speech. So much appreciation for this woman’s outstanding leadership. You worked hard for NZ and never lost sight of who you are and what you stand for. Thank you Jacinda:) Go well my friend x
An absolute national treasure. She taught so many, not only here in Aotearoa but across the world, to not conform to fitting into glass slippers, but to smash glass ceilings. That of which she did so fiercely & courageously, and with elegance & commitment. Moe mai rā Georgina.💜
We are coming to terms with the death of our Muriwai firefighter Craig Stevens, who was caught in the Muriwai landslide on Monday night with fellow firefighter Dave van Zwanenberg.
All of Fire and Emergency feel their loss.
PM Hipkins visits Māngere to talanoa with community providers and thank them for the efforts on the ground with flood victims. Our LPC have been at several Evac centres across Auckland to support efforts.
Tangi Utikere is now the Chief Government Whip! A warm congratulations to our Cook Island MP for Palmerston North, who was made Junior Whip last June and has managed to secure the senior spot in less than a year. 🇨🇰👏🏽
#BREAKING: @BarbEdmondsMana is the new Minister for Internal Affairs, Pacific Peoples, Associate Minister of Health (Pacific) and Associate Minister of Housing. A huge congratulations from our Labour Pāsifika Caucus. Cheehoo! 🙌🏾🇼🇸
The outpouring of love, support & donations has been truly heartening. For now tho — because we’ve been inundated & have too much food & clothing, please hold off from dropping off donations. If there’s anything we need, I’ll be sure to post up & you’ll be the first to know!🙏🏽
