Olivia Rodrigo speaks out on criticism for wearing babydoll dresses during Popcast interview:
“What’s really, like, disturbing is I feel like I have worn outfits that are revealing on stage. Like I’ve been on stage in like a sparkly bra, little shorts, which is my right. That’s fun. I felt cool and comfortable in that. And like that wasn’t “inappropriate” — but me, like, fully covered up in a dress that people deem to be, like, childlike was inappropriate. And I just think it just like shows how we really normalize pedophilia in our culture. And also it’s just this rhetoric that we’re fed as girls since we’re so little, which is like, ‘Don’t wear that because then a man is going to sexualize your body and it’s your fault.’ Like it’s so weird. And I didn’t think I looked sexy in that at all — I was like ‘This is so cool. I feel like I look like Kathleen Hanna or Courtney Love.’ All these people who are my heroes.”

Sometimes male anger at ‘women getting special treatment’ reminds me of a gorilla experiment. One gorilla gets a banana every hour. The females next to him get one every four hours. Then someone decides to be fairer and gives the females a banana every two hours instead. The original gorilla? He flips out. He's still getting his banana every hour, but it feels like a loss because his advantage shrank. That's how a lot of men react to basic fairness for women: not as justice, but as theft.
Girls will suffer unearthly tragedies and still run errands the same day with a smile on their face but if a man's parents divorce when he is 12 he will unleash his wrath on the world for the rest of his life
Men are quick to say “not all men.”
Until…..
-their wife has a male best friend.
-their girlfriend grabs lunch with a male coworker.
-a grown man starts chatting with their teenage daughter at the mall.
-they have a baby girl and suddenly see the world differently.
Then, all of a sudden, they know men. They know the risks. They understand why women are cautious.
Funny how that works.
Why are men so self conscious about their height, there are so many more important flaws to be self conscious about for example the lack of emotional intelligence.
“I don’t do politics.”
Yes you do.
Low wages? That’s politics.
High prices? That’s politics.
War? That’s politics.
The world won’t spare you for not “doing” politics. Stay informed.
Whenever I see a young girl (19-23) moving in with her boyfriend to escape a toxic environment, I sob for her cuz 9/10 that shit is gonna be way worse than wtf you were dealing with at home 😭
